A town centre pub & restaurant crawl, a day in the life of a fanzine seller - and I'm unusually more excited about the football at the end of the day than the beginning...

Thank you so much to everyone who bought a fanzine today or has subscribed. I'll have copies at every match if you missed out today.

Thanks Jane, a good read as usual.
FYI Critchley did a triple substitution v Oxford (0-0) and got pelters for it if I recall!

Hi Jane, just to say congratulations on your article on Blackpool pubs in the new edition of Camra’s BEER magazine - a pleasant surprise to see you in there as guest contributor.

180,000 Camra members will read that, plus it’s very good timing, as this edition will be available to thousands of non-members at the upcoming Great British Beer Festival. Well done!

Thank you! It was a pleasure to be asked to step in. I don't need much of an excuse to rave about the excellent Blackpool pub scene. Ooh and that's exciting news about GBBF - I hadn't realised the timing was so good. Fingers crossed this will help boost the beer tourism scene up here.

1. Why do you go to these beer deserts?
2. I reached the ground at 14.45. Didn't see you otherwise would have parted with coinage.
3. Michael Wan's has always been a good restaurant. You should have had the Szechuan chicken. Not the I've had it mind.

1. Just trying to add a bit of variety so I'm not writing about Shickers/No 10/Cask & Tap/Waterloo every week like last season. Also these places are new to me, as I only moved back to the area quite recently, so I'm finding out for myself what's out there. I often like an, er, unconventional pub. For example I loved Crazy Scots and the Townsman.
2. Sorry I missed you! I was outside Arcade Club until 14.50. I'll be around ahead of most games (and will have them on my person at away games too).
3. It is certainly very popular but I am definitely more of an Indian fan than Chinese (comes from living in Walsall for 20 years, I think).

Sorry to miss you Jane, I would definitely have bought one. Will get one against Swansea.

Enjoyed the fanzine @BlackpoolJane - didn't realise that we'd had a fanzine in the 80's .. my first fanzine was an A4 version of View From The Tower (the incarnation before AVFTT)
Ah my bad - they are from the 90s. No dates on the front so I had to do some digging to verify that!

Pleased you enjoyed it. It will get better too :). Already working on issue 7.
