New gazette journo

Does the Gazette still do match reports on midweek games? I ask because I was told Johnston Press (I think the owners or whoever they were) had the print copy cut time brought forward to 7pm and wouldn't alter it.
So I understand….

Dan Black is the regional sports guy who is probably doing the BFC beat on his lunch hour

People moaning about signings are in for a shock when they find out how long it takes to appoint someone to a job in the real world!

Me too, I asked him twice after he'd left who would be his replacement but got no reply, perhaps he didn't know or care. You would have thought the local paper would have someone in post by now.
How would he have anything to do with picking his replacement

Gazette owners are slashing yet more jobs, so you might want to get used to the level of coverage you’re getting … if not worse

No I didn't mean him having anything to do with picking his replacement, I just asked if he knew who would replace him covering Blackpool. Scrafton used to run a matchday blog on twitter for every game and it was something I followed almost every game, his updates were usually quicker than the official club twitter account.
If The Gazette are cutting back you might well be right about getting used to less coverage.

Whoever it is, just seems to put out the same stories day after day, just with the words in a slightly different order.
Today's offering is Albie Morgan (again).

I get the Gazette daily and this week they are supposed to be revamping the whole paper.
It gives a list of all the editorial staff and one called "Sports Content Editor" by the name of Peter Storey.

Sounds like there may be a reduced coverage but the football club is a key part of the Gazette's offering so they'll have something in place for the season start I'm sure. Re-jig by the sound of it. Cost cutting no doubt.

Pete Storey is an old Lancashire Evening Post hand, I think.
