Michael Duff please. Critchley won't be sacked yet though. If our home form dips, then he'll be under real pressure though. I'm intrigued as to what Sadler will do in terms of the January window, that will speak volumes. Does he back 'his' man or will he write the season off and hope things turn around. A rebuild is needed and some of those include players brought in recently.

It seems Ekpiteta and Dougall are likely to leave. I'd like to add Connolly, Morgan, Norburn and Thompson that can leave.

Apter needs to be involved and we need to get Lavery and Gabriel fully fit to have players who genuinely care about the shirt.

Young, plays attacking football, has done well at Barrow with manager of the month in November, took them from 22nd to 9th last year on a shoe string budget and has them 4th now. He only has 18 months left on his contract so compensation wouldn't be massive. Exactly the sort of manager I'd love to see us go after.

He also isn't one of our ex managers and will have a totally clean slate with us. He's someone I would welcome with open arms that's for sure.

Agreed, the measure of a manager to me is what they’re able to do with what they have and Pete Wild has very little with Barrow but is knocking on the door of promotion with them.

Incredibly impressive.
 
Dobbie and Gary are ex managers so got to be one of them two?

If (big if$ they sack Critch then I’d like to see them give Dobbie the reigns for at least 4 matches to see how he does managing meaningful games.

Would love to see what Dobbie would do with the attacking talent in this squad, if he doesn’t produce then appoint someone like Wild, if he does produce..

If (big if) they sack Critch I’d love them to give Dobbie 4/5 matches to see what he can do in meaningful matches.

Much easier to perform when the expectation was that we were as good as down, but point taken still.

Wouldn’t mind Dobbie but think Wild is the best still.
 
I think I'd go for Wild as first choice, but there are lots of if's and but's in there.

Dobbie is tricky. He would have an extended honeymoon period that would suit SS, but I'd hate him to fail for the sake of just giving him that extra time to develop a bit (assuming he does need it and I'm not being a patronising tvvat). He'd be involved in the first team set up somehow in my world.

Conversations should be underway.
 
Not sure now is the time to get rid of Critch. It would take a while to appoint a successor and the new guy wouldn't have enough time to assess the squad and make additions and get rid of others. My opinion is that it makes more sense to wait until we are mathematically safe and then get rid. Only my opinion of course and I'll probably be slated but let's be honest, promotion is out the window now. Not being a doom and gloom merchant, just realistic .

Dobbie was trying to keep us up. And his future employment depended on it, potentially.

Wild? Wild card, for sure. I'd have Duff ahead of him, worked successfully at a higher level.

I tend to agree. It’s too late now. Just like it was when Appleton was kept on too long. Let’s limp to safety and then say thanks but no thanks.

A lot easier for Dobbie when the expectations were so low.

Duff is a good shout. Proven at this level with Barnsley, but then again so was Critch.

There are no certainties. And Critch hasn't exactly failed, we are 8th with an excellent home record and a poor away record.

It's always one of extreme or the other on here. Baying mob.

Fair when you say it like that, he hasn’t been THAT bad, but his expectation was to have us in contention for promotion and we are well off that at the moment.

I think him, the players, and everyone else at the club thought we would be better off at this point than we are.

Yes we have underachieved no question and recent away performances have been depressing, especially after the fabulous display at Portsmouth, not so long ago.

We are still 8th, however, two places and 7 points off the play offs. There's people saying our season is over FFS!

The club had a disastrous 22/23 season and changed all the key personnel. You get nowhere by constantly removing being people. I think I would add somebody, rather than firing three people. I do think there's an ingredient missing with Critch Brunskill and Garrity. It's too much dot to dot paint by numbers. Needs someone with the instincts developed during a playing career. Probably.
 
Let's hope we lose convincing tomorrow because we ain't going up we ain't going down. BUT we do need a new manager to start next season with fresh HOPE!!!!.

He isn't going anywhere, how can a fan of a club wish that their team gets beat tomorrow convincingly, the comments on this site are just just outright stupid and getting worse or your a PNE fan

Watching the team, I say he is failing,the team look like they are playing without a manager.

Agreed, we shouldn’t be firing people so quickly and would be fine if they added someone to the staff to see what impact it could make vs sacking them all off now, BUT 7 points off the playoffs doesn’t tell the full story as the teams above have games in hand, we could potentially be 13 points adrift.

Games in hand don’t automatically mean wins, but this league is very top heavy and the teams above us have been VERY consistent so if we want to keep up we have a a mountain to climb.

Season isn’t over by any stretch, but we are in a disastrous place.

Disastrous? Not great, but you're doing the doom thing.
 
NC is 2nd highest in the list of all time Blackpool Managers, points per game, using data freely available on the Internet.
GB is 19th and SD is 14th.
Yes, we have had poor results in 2 away games over Christmas and without those, NC would be even higher.
(Just in case anyone is interested, using this system, David Dunn is in top spot but of course he only managed the team for 4 games)

I think 8th having played 1or 2 games more than everyone above us, 14 points off the top and 7 points off playoffs is as close to failing as I would expect. It’s just not good enough, for me anyway
 
Haven't voted because I don't think we need a new manager but let's get Dobbie more involved in the first team management side on a match day so we at least have some succession.
