New Signings

I think Appleton is far more about honesty than he is about spouting a party line.

Personally, I really like that. I don't mean that I want my manager to be chucking toys about all the time in a strop, I just want him to say stuff worth listening to and I think he does.

Critch seemed to often say nothing.

Middlesborough have just signed some random aussie midfielder a wendies reject. If that's among the best of the out of contracts you can keep them.

Yes we certainly got the impression that an out of contract player would be coming in this week, with the likelihood of another one following. Nothing ever runs smoothly at BFC!

Press frenzy stoked by fan hopes - am still hoping Bridgett fails his medical as I think he'll add zilch.

I’d hope we’d be offering £5k or nothing to keep it sensible. Option of a pay rise in the summer if proven to be worthy.
Too many has beens commanding large wages which would be better invested in younger up and coming talent.
If they’re worth it (on proof through half a season) then reward with bonus

Well…. They were very close but wage demands of circa £10k was too much ultimately. Rightly so too.
£10K is far too unrealistic for a player his age & with his recent lack of game time.
Some 'has been' players (& managers) really are pathetic. If reports are true, this guy is happy to sit on his arris - earning nothing, and when he's offered circa £5K a week (£20K a month), he turns it down as he wants over £10K. Net result = he's happy to earn nothing & live off the multi millions he's already banked.
If he doesn't want to play for us, on our terms, then move on to someone who does .... and quickly.

Pay 🥜's get 🐒's. Maybe our wage structure needs looking at as it seems we do not compete with any other Championship side and seem to be struggling competing with League 1 teams as far as transfers go. Worrying times for our Championship status and unfortunately I can see us failing this season, having said that it ain't my 💰 and whatever I think makes no odds to the running of BFC

You'd think a 3 month deal could have been sorted as it would have suited both sides. DD takes 5k with no commitment beyond 3 months and we fill a hole. Maybe we should have met half way?

Seems odd from both sides.

The notion is the Blackpool spirit will see us through. That will only work for so long and unless you semi-compete you will in the end, fail. As sure as night follows day.
