New stewards, same old problems

Fans who feel the need to leave early instead of supporting the team to the end, change their minds and gather at the concourse entrances.
This blocks the view of many people who have paid to and wish to watch the game until the end and they are left to police this situation themselves.
If keeping the exits free and maintaining order is not within the remit of the stewards then what is the point in having them in the first place?
Sorry to sound grumpy but so many people in the lower seats missed the climax of a great game due to the selfish acts of others.
If you cant keep faith until the final whistle, please go home and don't spoil the game for those who loyal enough to believe until the last kick.

For once round us, everyone stayed to the end despite their late goal. Unusual.

At the end of the game those that want to applaud the team should stay by their seats and not stop in the aisle's to applaud.

Not here to argue with you but with a climactic ending to a game like Saturday’s would you not just be better standing up yourself and enjoying the win?

I did mosser, it was fantastic; but the children and the elderly didn't witness it as they couldn't see over the early leavers stood in front of them.
Grew up on the kop during 70's and 80's so I'm not woke, but I had to push one chap out of the way three times so my 84 year old dad could see. The chap got a great view of our winning goal; dad and half a dozen kids behind him missed it completely.
Well done that selfish bastard, next time he'll get more than a ** push!

Sorry. I normally try to be more eloquent on this board but dad has followed the pool since the 1950's now he misses the climax of games more often than not because stewards wont act. If it is beyond their remit to do so then what is their purpose?
I honestly can’t see what the stewards can do when that many people are leaving and then we score? Why don’t you move up a couple of rows?

This has been a problem for a long time. The stewards ask fans to keep moving but if they don't there isn't much they can do.

The stewards should usher the ones stood up leaving in an orderly fashion. If they try it on, then force should be applied.

It’s because our ground was built on the cheap usually the gangways aren’t at ground level to stop this happening usually you go up steps from the concourse and arrive into the stand already a dozen rows up from the front but because our ground was built under the O’s we went for the cheapest option.

"... aisles ..." Plural references DON'T require an apostrophe. Sorry to be the resident bore on this subject.

Exactly this. Karl learned his lesson somewhat when building the South and therefore took a couple of rows off of the bottom - but still didn’t give any consideration whatsoever to disabled supporters. Crap views and completely exposed to the elements.
Whatever happens with the East it absolutely has to have better facilities for disabled fans.
When the grounds complete they may even reconfigure the North and West to remove the bottom couple of rows and raise the pitch a bit - making it bigger, allowing for better drainage and undersoil heating etc

If you stand up and make your way to the exit concourses, you should be told to move on or make your way back to seat. Maybe another one to self police. 😂😂

I agree mosser, if I did leave early and we scored on my way out I would be the first to rush back in.
However, the fans in question routinely leave early then reposition themselves around the exits.
That's fine but not at the expense of others loyal enough to remain to the end.
It's a minor irritation for me but I feel empathy for fans less mobile.
If the stewards can't steward this then what is their role?

OK, that's my moan for the season done, thanks for listening UTMP

PS - as I product of my generation I hate sitting down watching football, it's not natural 🍊
