Unilever has announced it is suspending production of Marmite. A spokesman said that owing to a lack of yeast arising from the closedown of breweries it's unable to continue production of the dark stuff. For me that's a big

Are you forced to eat it ??? If not then why do you care ??? Loads of people like it. Weird OP

I used to love it but I now have gluten intolerance and can't go near the stuff because it makes me really poorly. Bugger!

Great marketing ploy to clear the decks ready for the breweries opening. It’s up there with tripe on my most hated foods but each to there own

My Grandad occasionally had tripe. I tried it twice when he was having it. The second time I was trying to give it a fair chance after not liking it first time around.
No, no, no and no again. Horrible stuff.

I remember as a really young nipper the family went to stay with friends, and Marmite - new to me at the time - was on the table for breakfast.

I'm a toast and butter man, was even then still am now. Occasionally, when feeling really anarchist, I'll have marmalade or jam as well. All spread thick of course.

No one told me you don't spread it on like jam. I'd probably eat it now, I eat more or less anything, but as an untried nipper I hated it. Everyone went outside to play, my dad made me stay at the table until I'd finished the one piece I'd done. Took me over an hour. Lesson learned.

Not that bothered one way or the other.

NOT! - Food of the Gods. This crisis mush be averted! 😣 😗

And if the health obsessed, sport obsessed, outdoor living Aussie's put away bucket loads of the stuff then you know it can' be a bad thing.
It’s got a cracking nutritional profile Mac.
Really high in protein and as you say the Aussies consume it in slabs

My mother loved tripe and cowheel. We had to eat it or starve. I hated it.
Of course we could have bread & jam (much better). 😃
