Next Five Games

Always think you should take games in blocks of five. So our next five are ..

Crewe (a)
Charlton (h)
MK Dons (h)
AFC Wimbledon (a)
Burton (a)

For me, the important thing is don't lose against Crewe and give us that bit of momentum we need in to two home games. Three games in Eight days could be just what we need .. we just need a good performance and a result on Saturday to set that up.

Crewe - L
Charlton - L
MK Dons - L
AFC Wimbeldon - W
Burton - L
I'm not sure Wimbledon away is the most winnable game?!

Who knows what will happen? All 5 of those teams will fancy their chances against us right now. It's all about whether we get our act together. I can't predict whether we will or not, within the next 5 games.

It is all guesswork thats for sure. The manager is under maximum scrutiny now and he simply cannot afford to slip up. Its no good having 60% plus possession if you pass the ball sideways and backwards and we seem unable to attack with pace and urgency.

I think we'll get beat, narrowly, on Saturday, but hopefully see glimmers of improvement and the shoring up of that back line:

Crewe - L
Charlton - D
MK Dons - W
AFC Wimbledon - D
Burton - D

Would like to be more optimistic about that Burton result, but I've been there three times and not seen us score!

Saturday was a bad day at the office, we were much better the week before, for 85 minutes at least. You do have to give Ipswich credit though for how clinical they were in the build up and finishing for the goals.

Let's do some walking before we run. It was pretty gung ho to put Gabriel and Garbutt in on Saturday IMO, and my belief is that Lambert sussed the weakness in advance and exploited it. He knows all about Garbutt defensively, and will have seen that Gabriel is a young lad thrown into the side who likes to get forward. Add in Turton playing out of position and what happened was predictable really, I posted before kick off the defence selection looked a mess. To steady the ship we have to be more conservative I think. And have new players spend some time in training, getting match fit and familiar with the system and the players around them. We all want attacking football but while goals are being leaked, all confidence drains away. And if you are struggling to score goals, it's even more important to batten down the hatches.

The big game there is going to be MK Dons at home. Crewe away is almost a write off, a point would be brilliant. Then Charlton at home, can’t see much from that. I’d definitely take 4 points from the next possible 9 if we could choose now anyway.

Random factor Voy...bound to get an away win somewhere he says hopefully!! I think it will be a while before Critch turns it around as he’s a novice BUT I reckon he can do it. Forged by fire and all that!

That's the spirit. Let's believe in the fella. He's learned well in the past, nowt to stop him learning this new job.

I don’t think we will as the project will take it to 15 games. I reckon it will be improve or else time at 10 games...the discussion will be had for sure if it does go as I predict, agreed.
But that's not the spirit, pull yourself together!
