Too early to say really, Dobbie will have an advantage, knows the players and now has almost a free hit, but not quite.

If he gets us playing any semblance of improved football I think he's done well and therefore is in the driving seat.

We missed the boat on Evo and Edwards.

Evo also a shareholder now Bolton.

Don‘t havd much faith in Bullshít and SS picking the right person this time either.

Really don’t understand people voting for Charlie Adam. Absolutely no credentials and the guy’s clearly not the sharpest tool. I’d be amazed if, when the board are under so much pressure to get this appointment right, their search has been as far as googling “former Blackpool players who the fans will like”

I agree then they are the same people who will say no to Wellens.

Can we drop the Evatt shouts as well, we had our chance and the club didn’t fancy him before Critchley came along and they don’t fancy him now.

For all those obsessed with re-appointing an ex manager what about Gary Bowyer ? He did well during the boycott making the best of a limited squad/budget . Currently doing very well at Dundee so probably not a realistic option, but likely more realistic than Evatt, who is on the list .I’m not normally in favour of re-appointing an ex manager, but in his case it hardly feels like he was here in the first place .

No no no

Look at his current working environment. Great stadium, great set up, bigger support, team already in place, fantastic relationship with his board. Why would we leave to come here???
Not disputing any of that. The question posted is who would you want. Ian Evatt is the manager I'd want - for the reasons you've mentioned it probably wouldnt happen but after this season all weve left is a bit of hope that next season will be better

Failed at Salford, failed at Bradford and took the Oyston coin.
He did very well for us in in the most difficult of circumstances . Bradford was a basket case , not sure what happened at Salford but he seems to have found his mojo at Dundee. Anyway he’s not my top choice but personally I would prefer him to some of the names suggested . He doesn’t fit the bill as far as young up and coming manager but maybe less risk attached . Anyway he probably wouldn’t come .

If only we could be that lucky .

Snacks of zero ambition if we hired him

Luke Williams, Challinor, Stephen Bradley and possibly Matt Gray.

Not saying I want them, but I’d want to speak to all of them.

Wellens, Edwards, Evatt are all unrealistic. People seem to be obsessed with ex players and managers. Critchley had no links and he was successful. Neither did Holloway.

Let’s not go back to Critchley - we don’t need another appointment that is going to divide fans from the off

I reckon Charlie is pretty sharp. He's a very articulate guy, and seems insightful to me.
Going for a tried and tested manager does not guarantee success.
A smart guy with recent playing experience and a major part in BFCs recent history is good for me.
With maybe Dobbie and Thompson in the management team.
Every appointment is a risk.

Are we forgetting Nathan Jones ??? Just bloody well get this bloke here.

We need to get our scouting ability notched up. A great example of this is Burnley. Build the infrastucture and then we've got a fighting chance.

Their current scouting set up is what effectively bought the club. I’m not sure it could be replicated.

Wouldn’t have him back have Critchley back ever ……….. his personal ambition was the root cause of the situation we find ourselves in .
Not forgetting he did exactly what Appleton did when he was first here ……… walk out on the club , which is what the fans had a downer on him for , the difference being he had the Oystons to put up with a nothing contract whereas Critchley had a four year deal with backing of the board and the supporters, but left us in the mire without a word to the supporters as to his reasons for several months after the departure. Failed badly at Villa and QPR so not great credentials for future success.
They always say never bring a manager back a second time as we’ve seen many times before …….. Appleton a prime example . Fresh young blood required ……… and no has beens !

I think we need to stop looking at ex players/managers and find someone who is succeeding at a lower level at the start of their managerial career. For example the Notts County manager Luke Williams, who is currently top of the National League, with over 65% win ratio since he took over. We've done it before when we appointed Critchley and it worked. We need to take a chance, as the same old failed managers isn't the answer.
