Next targets ?

Looks like we’ve missed out on Banks , who’s Blackburn bound and apparently Waghorn as well as he opts for Derby instead. Have to stay I’m not bothered on the latter as I didn’t rate him much.
onto plan b/ c , which hopefully includes Moxon

Sign him up. No mention of us though.

If Banks does go to Blackburn you would expect that the club are aware of this lad`s talents hence suggesting him as a possible "next target" on this thread. Coming from Warrington and his dad`s Everton connections you never know , but maybe, and indeed hopefully, the club are still looking to buy and develop this type of player rather than a loan. I can`t see Brighton being willing sellers though, they hardly need to sell do they ?!

No but he's 21 and won't want to stay there unless he has a real chance of breaking through. He might be worth a year loan anyway. I think we'll have at least 2 loan players by September.

Watch this space I guess. I do know as a fact that the club are paying for 2 currently unused apartments for loan signings so 1 maybe 2 loans is more than likely as you say.

Critch told Andy Bayes in Cork that he'd be looking to use the loan market.

Jensen Weir attacking midfielder from Brighton , born In Warrington , scored 10 on loan at Morecambe last season. Quite a number of league 1 clubs interested possibly us ?
Super post Mogwai with loads of information and add ons.
I looked him up and his dad is the old Scottish warhorse who played over 600 games David Weir who funnily enough is the technical director at BHA

Not sure who's next but we have the cash to invest and need to. It's all gone a bit quiet after some good business.

It would help if Joseph was playing, as we do have another striker but it just seems like we're even shorter than we are, with him not being available so far.

A few free agents id be looking at:

Macauley Bonne - did fairly poor at Charlton last season, but has a brilliant goal scoring record prior to that. Only 27.

Dennis Adeniran - a mobile central midfielder who played for Sheffield Weds last season. Came through Evertons youth academy and was linked to us previously. 24 years old.

Ronan Curtis - winger or attacking midfielder. Circa 100 goal involvements in 200 games for Portsmouth. Only 27.

Would like Curtis!

Critch always talks about getting players in before the end of August which I think shows he knows he'll be playing the long game and probably have to work with what he has until then?

Tbh the squad we have now is good enough for a promotion push, it’s been shown in the last two games. Any signings now would just polish off a very good squad of players.

I’d like to think the wins will make us more attractive to potential incomings.
Can't do any harm. Players will always be drawn to clubs that are winning, have decent coaches and where it feels like there is a good atmosphere. We need players that want to buy into the whole ethos of the club/community.

The ideal scenario is that we pick up a couple of wins and a draw from the next three games (this is me trying not to be greedy) and show we are a real threat in this league and therefore won't be forced in to paying mega bucks for a target. I think clubs smell desperation when teams are struggling and bump up the prices accordingly whereas establish ourselves in that Top 6 and who knows.

Seriously I wonder if Joleon Lescott put in a good word for us with his dad who I think he would have played with. Also his signing might enhance the prospects of us signing the lad from Morecambe having played together 🤔

I can’t see Moxon being on our radar anymore after signing Weir, maybe one parked for next season now .
Sounds like there’s at least another imminent from what Critch said , which doesn’t put us that far away from being a serious contender.

Will be interesting to see who is let out on loan and if we are willing to see some permanent transfers out too.
