Nice one Scotland

Brilliant to see so many Scots line the route as the Queen travels to Edinburgh.

A monarchy which pretty much unites the country, in a place where the majority party are trying to break it up.

Funny old world.

Edited to add.

Scotland is such a beautiful country and so much of the world are seeing it at its finest today. In an otherwise scorched Europe, the amount of greenery is gorgeous.

Totally agree.
I’ve just returned from a fishing trip on Shetland the wild life is just spectacular while out on the boats we saw a pod of Orca’s, Dolphins, a Basking Shark, a Minky Whale and loads of Seals & Sea Otters, just awesome.
The Fishing is brilliant as well best in the whole of the British Isles. 👍

Fabulous.

I've never been that far north, but have done a bit in NW Scotland and love it.

As they said in the BBC this morning; ⅓rd of the land mass of Great Britain, about 7% of the population.

What's not to like - other than the unnecessary sectarian bigotry.

Royal Deeside is Tory country.

Loved the tractors lining the route.

Just back from a trip up the west coast from Loch Lomond to Skye . . . the most beautiful place on earth IMHO.

Regarding the bigotry - it's just a small minority of Celtic & Rangers fans. Nobody In Edinburgh and most of the rest of Scotland care about it.

Posting from Skye, talking to a neighbour they have had little but rain all summer, no wonder it's so green. Adore the Highlands and Islands, the people are so friendly, having lived in the Highland for 9 years, no anti English other than footie banter.

The majority of Scots are in Central belt, all those I know of Irish Republican extraction have been totally neutral about her death in public.

I think the Queen is widely respected as an individual who loved Scotland, who was probably as close to "normal" as she ever could be on her Estate.

As someone who has been forced to the Highlands to visit family twice a year for over 35 years whilst I can see it’s beauty I hold a different view. It is now so overrun with tourists that any notion of getting away from things is long gone.

Also the quaint nature of many of the towns has gone.

Everything you may need to buy is a minimum of 150 mile round trip and as for deliveries you can forget it.

It’s certainly got busier, but there are still loads of areas you can go to where you won’t hardly see another soul all day.

Lived in Ayrshire in the early 90s and hated that stuff. It's time they packed it in and grew up. Scotland is a wonderful country with lots to offer. I just wish we could treat Great Britain as one country instead of holding onto these petty nationalist and sectarian insecurities.

I spent a few days in the beautiful village of Plockton and they said it had been the worst summer for 40 years which really surprised me.

Fortunately for me and my mum the few days we were there was glorious.

Depends where you go, the West Coast with places like Fort William, Glen Coe, Skye, Plockton etc...are busy but that's it in my experience.

We live in one of the Highland's honey pots, yet 0.5 mile out of the village, can walk for hours and see few people. Drive over to the west, stay away from the 500, and it is still quite and unspoilt. There are issues, too many camper vans and not enough site spaces for them, disrespectful wild campers, but in the vastness of the Highlands, midge bite on an elephant.
