Norburn as a Captain

Doesn’t get in the referee’s ear enough for me. Remember when Dickov was in the team and he’d be relentless in chomping the ref’s ear. Could easily have got a couple sent off yesterday but no one questioned any of his decisions. Personally I don’t see Norburn as a leader.

How do you know he isn't at the referee can you hear him?

From what l saw on Saturday he was onto the ref all the time!

He waits/stops in anticipation of the free kick every time, one time soon he will cost us.
Looks pretty stepping on the ball and moving from side to side but doesn’t do enough to drive the game, for me.

Refs have been giving a lot more yellow cards for dissent this year. I don't think being in the ref's ear is worth the risk, especially for a player like Norburn who tackles hard too.

I agree wholeheartedly with the earlier poster about Norburn protesting about fouls as the game happens around him -- he needs to play to the whistle.

Funny how we all see things differently - I thought everything bad that happened was because of him and didn't see any Captaining at all!

His best game last night in a tangerine shirt imho. Bossed the midfield and drove the team on. Constantly talking and directing his teammates. Bravo Norbs
All bout opinions and seeing things differently, I feel like I saw him pull out of 3 50/50 challenges last night and challenges he really should have been winning….frustrates me alot at times

Agreed, too many short passes, dwells on the ball and not very quick. We need better

I thought he was good last night. He just plays that holding position well. He looked more positive with the ball last night too. I think for some he has become a scapegoat especially the few guys who sit next to me. At one point I think they blamed Norburn for the choice of music pre match 😜

He will of looked like he was not making those challenges but at the time he only has a split second to decide if he is late with any of those 50/50 he risks being sent off, so it will be a decision he would of made at the time and as it pans out the right one

Had a good game last night shame KD left as they played very well together with Norbs as the enforcer and KD as the distributor
i think kenny made him look good, thought Virtue stepped up last night in the second half and controlled the midfield, numerous interceptions, high energy pressing and getting in the faces of the opposition, as well as setting off a few attacks.

Norburn pulling out of challenges was more like (to me anyway) that he was going for the same ball as other pool players and telling them to leave it for him where he either cant get to the ball or pulls out. Made a couple of good interceptions early doors so was thinking we might get a decent performance out of him, but alas (in my opinion anyway) he was not up to scratch. I don't know what he provides to the team. Morgan and Virtue both provide better defensive shield, by being high energy and pressing, and both have better distribution and forward drive, Norburn demands the ball in crap positions and more often than not gives the ball to players who are not in good positions to receive, or does a Henderson back to the keeper. He keeps getting involved in free kicks and corners which I think unsettles other players and when he takes deep lying free kicks he just gives the ball away.

I personally don’t think you no anything about football.really bizarre
Edit to add - another reason I rarely post on this forum.the majority who’ve probably never kicked a ball in their lives talking utter shite about players and performances.
