Have you ever seen the Northern Lights from Blackpool? Maybe too much light pollution.

I was out last night on my way back from a family meal. It was clear, but no Aurora. I'll be looking out again tonight.

Some amazing photos some people have from last night. Was raining where I was, and the same again tonight unfortunately.

Do you know what the best time to have a look is?

Just had a look out towards the Tower & that's the only Aurora visible round here ATM. Seriously too much light pollution & clouds.

aurora activity site

Click on this and it will show you current activity, hour by hour. It has already hit red earlier on today, we saw it very cleary last night even with streetlights when it was on red.
We stayed in Akaslompolo a small village in Finnish Lapland years ago, and the hotel night receptionist had a similar set up on his computer, so he phoned our room when there was a good chance of seeing them. Had 2 great viewings whilst there, awesome.

Going to Rossall as I think thats the best place to see them due to a pretty large area with low light. Its top of my bucket list and even if there is a 10% chance of seeing Im still going to take those odds

No sightings in Blackpool then. :(

Been cloudy every time I've looked out. Apparently these additional sightings will continue until 2025, so we stand half a chance.
