Not COVID but....

This last week I've felt rotten, aches, sore throat, cough, upper abdomen pain.

Not covid, done 4 billion tests, seen on social media and heard quite a few people I deal with via work are similar.

Anyone else knocked down by COVID 22!? šŸ˜….

Yes I know other illnesses are available.

I had Covid 2 weeks ago
Im boostered & am only 30

It started with a wierd scratchy throat on the Saturday morning, took a test was negative, was doing my usual 5 mile walk that night got a shiver down my body, straight away i felt rotten so bad i had to get a bus home, put the heating on full blast for about 5 hours 3 duvets and my clothes on in bed and was still freezing took a test was negative

Next morning, Mothers day i went to hers for dinner, she gave me a test was positive and another which was positive.

The Monday i woke up very ill, pains and aches everywhere, a high fever, no appetite, my taste didnā€™t go but all food tasted somewhat metallic, my throat was in agony when I swallowed. I could not string a conversation without choking coughing non stop. Had blood in my phlyem but probably came from my throat. I was really sick and breathless for 5/6 days. I was also extremely tired 24/7 & chest pain as if a baby was sitting on it

2 weeks later i feel fine except an occasional cough & i still have no appetite at all, none.

Yes I forgot to mention the metallic taste in my mouth! Breathing been OK just this annoying chesty irritating cough.

My appetite has also gone, but I've eaten consciously knowing I am not hungry!

Mouth been dry as a desert also.

Itā€™s not really over though, is it?
Critical incidents at hospitals all over U.K.
Sounds like youā€™ve got Covid. The tests are unreliable now - you can be negative in the morning and positive in the afternoon. People are still testing because itā€™s the right thing to do if you feel ill. Only selfish nobs go out spreading the virus just because itā€™s not illegal any more.

My whole family had Covid 2 weeks ago after 2 years being super careful to avoid it. I was the most ill. Like a heavy cheasty cold and aching limbs. Loss of energy and absurd sleeping has been the worst thing and hasn't gone. If I sit down on the sofa to watch TV I pretty much fall asleep for varying amounts of time. It's fucked up.

Appears there are quite a few bugs going around at the moment (viruses/vires/more than one virus)
Plus I've been advised you need to take 4 billion and one tests, just to be sure
Get well soon

Yep, all bloody week, tested negative but on and off with the exact symptoms you describe.

Yep, Covid is over ā€¦ā€¦ how we laughed šŸ˜”

Dear Family

As some of you are aware I was hoping to open the home next week. Unfortunately following whole home testing, we now have a further 7 residents who have tested positive for covid, their families have been informed. We must therefore stay in lockdown until the home is clear.

If your relative is not isolating and you would like to have a POD visit, please call our home mobile to book a time and to check availability, these are half an hour slots starting at 10:15am through to 3:15pm. If your relative is positive you will not be able to visit in the Pod until they are out of isolation. Therefore, we are unable to have visitors in the home unless you are an essential care giver or have been asked by the Manager to visit an end of life resident.

I appreciate that this is disappointing news for you, I will keep in touch with updates and you can contact me if you require more information.ā€™

I've not been terribly well since last Thursday. Headache, sore throat, dry mouth, persistent cough, sneezing fits, no temperature, aching all over, lack of energy tested a couple of times, and COVID negative. A bit like a very heavy cold or a dose of Flu. Glad to hear it isn't just me.šŸ˜–

Just shifted mine, had a cough for 3 week, that bad it was making me dizzy, splitting headaches, all insides hurting through coughing, took antibiotics for a week and still didnā€™t shift it. Rang docs again last week and said inundated with Covid nowt they could do so go to walk in, cleared itself over weekend
Like a sticky phlegm you just canā€™t cough up

It's Mrs Lytham as well, we've never been ill at the same time in 20 years.

It's either the LFTs not picking this strain up or all our immune systems are buggered from 2 years of social distancing.

Feeling the symptoms as above right now. Done 2 tests and both negative. Haven't slept for 2 nights due to coughing continually.

Same here, oddly enough my illness came on after my trip to Dumpdale. Maybe they need to develop a new booster for next season.

Headache
Runny nose
Cough
Metallic taste
Stomach pains

I was on the edge of OK but the Ewood jolly has really knocked me for 6 and I'm really suffering today. šŸ¤®šŸ˜·

Seems a few of us in the same boat! I feel 80% better just the sticky phlegm like stuff to battle.

Since the vaccine Mrs 250k has suffered horrific sinusitis its almost on repeat now for 12mth.

I'm glad I have rid of the metallic taste, may even try my 1st pint in 2 weeks! After all it is half term šŸ¤Ŗ

Ok so I started last night with a sore throat which has developed today and is pretty nasty, Iā€™ve also got a temperature this afternoon, not too bad, 99.9, but feeling pretty crap. Did a lateral flow test which is negative, but ive not been ill for years with any sort of virus. From what Iā€™ve read, this is covid.

Probably is mates, I thought exactly the same. Tests was negative each time.

I'm convinced it was after reading this thread. Some strange goings on at the moment

I've got to agree with most of the comments about negative testing.
Over the past two years I've been really bad at times, knocked for six as stated, and not once having tested positive.

If youā€™re not testing positive then you most likely havenā€™t got CoViDā€¦.(Other cold viruses do exist!!)

Thereā€™s obviously going to be lots of shit passing around now weā€™re all out and about again, have given our immune systems a bit of time off, they likely wonā€™t be so well primed either.

I've got many of the same symptoms as above, testing negative. I think it's just a cold, having not had one since before lockdown. I've certainly had worse colds in the past

Iā€™ve developed a sore throat, slightly stuffy head, but that was after a 30 mile Sunday cycle ride where I got the layering completely wrong. Cannot remember the last time clothes have been so sodden with sweat. Straight in the wash m/c.
Done a test which is negative. Must be a cold virus.

An update to the above, I have done two lateral flows this morning and both positive. Must have caught it elsewhere, cycle ride a red herring. Still got a slightly sore throat and stuffy head.

Yep. Same situation. Trying to sort out a new care home for Dad, but can't visit to look at places while can't visit him where he is because of positive covid cases, with a couple of deaths.

Meanwhile tossers on here say it's just a cold.

And me and Mrs Glassman .... Dodged it for 2 years and finally sucuumbed to it symptoms as listed above ..

I've struggled for the last two days, in particular. No energy, can't concentrate, always tired. Like Glassman has said, I've dodged it for 2 years and now I have a dose of the new variety by all accounts even though 2 tests came out negative. The Mrs had it last week and says she was tired for four days after the worst had passed. Hopefully be better for the Brum game.

I've been hit by this since Monday night. Started aching all over and I knew something wasn't right and had a weird cough. I've been in bed since, done 3 covid tests, all negative. It has completely knocked me. The worst part is my head, I feel like I've got concussion and can't think properly.

Entire body aching, I'm sweating and shivering, can't sleep, terrible headache, sneezing, coughing, can't concentrate. It is hurrendous. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I can't get out of bed.

Me and the Mrs have had heavy cold symptoms for about ten days with bad sinusitis, coughing and severe tiredness. Done a few tests, all negative but not for a few days, reading this and starting to think it is Covid. Who knows, and am not sure it makes too much difference either way now? We are staying off grid as much as possible anyway.

Why does reading a thread full of people saying that they also havenā€™t got CoViD and testing negative, make you (who has also tested negative) now think that you have actually got CoViD?

Surely weā€™ve all just got something elseā€¦

The full story is a bit longer to be honest, but might make a bit more sense. We were in the Scottish Highlands when we picked it up (probably).
Met there with a mate of ours who was due to fly to the states to visit his brother. He had heavy cold symptoms (similar to us) and was testing every day due to the flight. He had several negatives and finally tested positive on the morning he was due to fly so he didnā€™t go.
His wife is a GP and told us that the medics up there are calling the variant they are dealing with (presumably BA2) ā€œstealth Covidā€ because people are repeatedly testing negative even with heavy symptoms and then suddenly testing positive.
Because we had still not yet tested positive I have been thinking it was something else. There are some posts on this thread casting doubts on the LFT tests, which frankly I probably share. My wife has had a bit of a relapse today as well, so I am now thinking it might be covid after all. Planning to do a final test tomorrow. That will be the first in four days. If it is negative I will probably assume it is another virus again.
