Not enough quality throughout

Sorry guys just don't see enough quality to bully and outscore opposition to climb out of this league. A disappointing mid table finish for me, I'm afraid. Not convincing against a poor Barrow side. I appreciate it's early days but Beesley, Lavery, Apter, Hamilton (oh dear) too lightweight for me. Haven't seen the couple of new forwards (where are they?). Midfield - lightweight, Defence - ? (Thompson - non league, for me). We're gonna need several to step up to the plate big time, to hope to make any impression. Just hoping we can bring in a few quality loans that can bolster mf and a Simms type to rattle the giants that we'll face. Wish I could be more confident and positive. I just say what I see. 😔 UTMP

I don't see you as a bullshitter Marcodan but I see things completely the opposite way around. We have good players who know their job. They've been drilled and it's obvious from watching the Barrow game. Even the Barrow manager saw it and commented on it. Relax dear boy...we're gonna knock the opposition over the stands.

Why are people coming out with this on the back of our best performance so far? Not convincing, we won 5-0, could have been a few more, their manager said we looked class and like a Championship side... Barrow play solid football under Wild and beat the nobbers a week before.

Plus we're not done recruiting yet and haven't seen Joseph yet.

🤔

I've not seen anything of us yet and by all accounts we played well against Barrow and looked comfortable. I do think though that we are still missing a couple.
Ideally I'd like another CB in if we are to play 3 back there which looks likely and I'd possibly also like another top CM to play with Trybull and Norburn. I'm not convinced about Carey and Virtue although Morgan might end up being the one tbf.
I don't think we are far off though.

Got to be a WUM on this . 5-0 is convincing against anybody . Looking much much rosier than this time last year. De ent prep

You been on the piss all day you idiot?
We've Championship quality players in our squad but due to the two last crap managers we failed.

Question you got a Season ticket?

Well I don't normally do being pessimistic, so I will try to look on the bright side, but
I can understand where the poster is coming from.
I think if we line up with a left side of Husband, Thompson and Dale then we are definitely in trouble and I doubt any of them getting any better. I would like to see a quality left back/ c/ h.
This will probably cost but I feel this area has been poor for a few years and the club obviously think the same as they have recruited several players to replace Husband in Garbutt, James Thompson and Lyons .
I think Norburn will be the calming midfield influence we have sadly been missing and his presence should be a platform for players like Carey, Morgan, Virtue and Apter to show their true potential.
I have always tried not to be too critical of our strikers over the last few years because I just don't think we have had a midfield creating enough chances. Hopefully this could now be about to change.
We are definitely a wide attacking player short and maybe a striker, I really hope Kyle Joseph is the new Jerry Yates ?

Wow. Glad I'm not sat near you. Ever.

I have to say this is the flip side of the coin, Critchley has said it will take time and thats fair enough. One aspect of this is he has to run with what he has to an extent, the owner wants to see some home grown players progress. Money has been spent in the defence and midfield. The style of play is different for sure. In answer to our friends view we have a team who I think will be in a top ten finish. Theres only Portsmouth who are throwing
money at this trying to buy success. Its extremely difficult to say what our capabilities are at this moment in time, 2/3 quality players could change
the view....

You obviously have little or no knowledge of football or footballers.

Are you basing this on pre season, or last season? I don’t think any of the players should be judged on last season. In that team even Messi would have been more Mess. They are definitely going to be far more disciplined, playing mainly in their correct positions and these 2 things alone will increase confidence and performance. Team spirit also looks to have improved.
I don’t know how well we’ll do, there’s 23 other teams in the league I know very little about and can’t just write off but I think properly handled last seasons team could have stayed up so there’s no reason to think they can’t go back up.

I think that this squad is stronger than last season; which came close to staying up in the championship. Unlike last season there was a clear game plan at Barrow.

It's worth being convinced that those who were there are convinced.

Most of this team have now had experience in a higher division and apart from numerous sending offs and different types of management . I felt that we held our own on a number of games . We now have a few new faces that I am sure will improve what we have got and we have a manager that does have the contacts to bring in some better players on loan . I will be disappointed if we are out of the top 6.

Right on cue

The anti-BFC activists are rattled

Someone's been drinking too much or I'm missing their irony. We may not run away with the league but to suggest we won't be competitive is lunacy.

I thought they played well both half’s, with 2 different teams.Good patterns of play, kept the ball well, played with intensity looked in control all game and scored 5 goals, yes it was Barrow but hey ho.Morgan looked good and get Trybull and Norburn together and a couple more signings. You never know ,fingers crossed

He wasn't playing and still gets slagged off.
