Not my first choice…

But Appleton is the manager. A bit less foot stomping and teddies thrown out the pram and let’s get behind him and the players.

I didn’t want Critchley and that turned out alright
I didn’t really have a first choice apart from Evo so although I have my doubts the manager pool was practically dry so I am glad they have made the appointment and we can look forward to pre-season.

I am now fully behind him and I hope he rams the pathetic bed wetters pathetic tantrum talk right back down their throats. He’s only 46, experienced and this is the best opportunity he has had in management and he is being supported totally by Sadler and the board so he knows he has a great opportunity and he is going to try and take it.

He deserves our full support, he is one of us now, our manager, we have no idea what the season will bring but we could be pleasantly surprised.

Let’s enjoy the pre season.

Remind us who said this about 13 hours ago?

"in all honesty I think it would be a disastrous appointment and one that could get rid of all the good will that’s been built up."

😆

Voy

To be fair to Herts, he could be going down the "I think it's a chit appointment but I wish him all the best" route ????????????

I kept my options open last night, and what I posted there is right, look at the state of this message board today, it’s going to be a difficult gig for him to change their minds so it could be disastrous. He is our manager now and I want him to do well.

I've discussed footie with MA a few times in the sauna at Marriotts gym. I like the way he stood up to Oyston when he found out he was blagging. He won't stand for any nonsense. Whether he's any good at football management at our level only time will tell.

Well I made the statement earlier about how he would get through the sift for an interview in the first place. Well he did and must of really impressed the team.
Not ashamed to admit to getting it completely wrong and he now has my backing as a Blackpool Manager.

I'm only messing. Always good humoured banter. I do lose track of where you are up to sometimes though. 😆

The good thing about Applejob is that he doesn't give a shit. He just gets on with it. A good quality.
How long have we been sparring on here Voy?? It's scary to think. I know you're only messing, humour is key. I do struggle to make my mind up sometimes. I guess I just want whoever takes the job to give it their all and I try and be positive.

I wonder if he'll put Kenny on the transfer list??

Now why on earth would he do that? 😆

Just heard from chopper. Thinks it's a weird appointment. Erratic manager choices - Grayson, Critch, Appleton. Two ex managers. 4 years. How many managers last that long?

There does seem to be a bit of cluelessness going on. I have to say. Where is the football expertise? As I said this morning. Sadler is hedge funds, Mansford is law and media, Gerrity - law?

4 year contract feels like an elementary mistake.

Is that like Sherlock Holmes painting his porch yellow and Watson asks him "Why have you painted it that colour Holmes?" "It's a lemon entry my dear Watson!"

Sadler and Mansford are no mugs ... he wouldn't have been on my list of 50 options but he has plenty to prove and has clearly interviewed brilliantly.

I know why some are frustrated / pissed off but let's not forget where we came from. I was there when we were singing last month having been hammered by ** Pboro. Similar backbone required now...
He's on the current managerial roundabout until he fell off here, whether they have kept it quiet or they havnt any imagination in changing the manager process.
English managers and coaches are thick as two planks.

The biggest problem is the 4 year deal for an uninspiring manager. Can't see us troubling the top half of the table, I'm anticipating a relegation battle tbh. And I've been very optimistic since the Oystons left. It's just how I feel, and I could be wrong. Everyone deserves a chance. I'm just feeling bad about it.

It's feeling more and more like we can't really afford to be in this division. Struggling to finance it. And what's totally apparent is that Mansford comes out with corporate bullshit and the reality is something else. Grayson, Critchley, Appleton. It's all just made up as they go along. And then BM applies some spin. I'm looking forward to hearing him doing this one. I bet he's a bit defensive.

It's not an easy job to find an ideal manager in a hurry, but why give a 4 year deal to someone is nothing like ideal? I suspect it's about money, an affordable option.
He's got a four year deal!! That is the most ridiculous thing about this appointment, he wouldn’t have turned down a two and has never done anything to suggest he is worth a four. Why give him a four year contract!!

Yeah, it's insane really. Won't believe his luck. Give him 2 and review.

It's like the Oystons are back with this appointment. Complete waste of time and you can see what's coming.
There's a reason we are always considered the smallest of the 4 Lancashire clubs and that's because we never maintain anything for long and have fleeting moments. Straight back to L1 with this while they all play championship and maybe above.
Last season we got our fan base on a par with Rovers and the nobbers and now it's gone in a stroke. Opportunity wasted while they get their houses in order again.
All the Mansford talk of having an identity and playing the Blackpool way is gone in an instant to bring his mate in.
I'm sure all the uber fans will be along to say we have to back him etc but regardless of his plodding managerial career I don't forget what a snake he was leaving.
I'm just so disappointed.

NIL go on then what’s coming?

Anyone who walks out on Koko is ok for me 👍

Why do you think?

Why did SS give Critchley 4 years?
