Spectators travelling south to the ground by tram will struggle. After 6pm until 10.30pm trams travelling south will terminate at North Pier. Passengers will then have to walk to Central Pier to catch a tram going south. All this because there is an "event" on the central prom. The return journey will be the above in reverse. Thanks for that. I often take the tram from Cleveleys but on this occasion, car it is.
 
Lived in Fleet St during and after the war.
When Dad was demobbed in 1945, me and my brother (19 months older), walked with Dad from home to BR.
We always had that feeling of intense anticipation as we walked along.
Great days to remember.
 
….and yet they are putting the illuminations on even though the road along the Prom between the north and central piers will be closed.
Diversions will be in place…they should be interesting in terms of traffic flows around the ground given BR will be closed off for a post match period as well.
If this has been planned (I assume ) well in advance why did this not be taking into consideration when the game was being rearranged.

And rigby road is closed for roadworks.

The event was planned months ago ,before the home game was rearranged.
 
Filming for the TV series "Brassic" was taking place near the Cenotaph the other day.

It could be some more scenes for that.
