Notting Hill carnival one stabbing

If that was the only knife related death in London that day it will probably be seen as a success 🙄

This country is well and truly on its arse and is only going to get worse, desperate people take desperate measures.

Quite a few stabbings at the carnival yesterday and sadly one fatality but you’re right it’s only going to get worse! What was all that shit going down at Reading and Leeds festival too, tents being set on fire, fights all over the place, looting, robbing 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Police charging a rowdy crowd at the Notting Hill carnival is featured as the photograph on the back of a well known LP sleeve.

Which one?

Estimated attendees over the weekend - 2 million

0.01% of attendees arrested for violent crime is testament to how safe modern British society is.

6000 police required is IMO well worth it for an event of such cultural significance, plus all the money being spent in the surrounding area.
The surrounding shops and businesses was boarded up to stop looting, the only ones making money was the 300 food outlets /stalls which are mainly cash transactions .

The Liverpool situation makes me wonder why they can now arrest 200, confiscate loads of cars, weapons, drugs and cash after that little girl was tragically killed. If they can do it now, why couldn’t they do it before? They obviously knew who they were going for and possibly could have avoided her being killed.

Time to do the same in other cities.

Seems the police are fed up.

From the Telegraph: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...-must-end-weekend-violence-police-federation/

Police in London have called for the future of the Notting Hill Carnival to be reviewed after the first event since 2019 was marred by violence, with one person murdered, six others stabbed and dozens of officers assaulted.

“There were 11,000 officers on duty across the weekend. For lots of them, this was their first experience of policing the carnival and they have been left extremely shocked by what they have seen and been subjected to.

I was in a park in London this week which had a Youth Centre. It was a nice, modern, glass facade building. I was quite impressed. That was until I saw a kid about 13 years old waiting outside to enter. The glass entrance was locked. A security guard was inside the door. He let one kid in at a time. He then frisked the kid who had his arms out wide to the side and legs slightly apart in airport security / police arrest style, not just manually by hand across his body but then again a second time with a metal detector style instrument.

I knew knife crime in London was bad but to see something like that for a youth centre in a friendly looking park was quite a shock. What has human society come to?

Why all the national coverage of the Notting Hill Carnival? Is it because it's in London?

The oldest West Indies Carnival takes place annually in Leeds, yet receives very little coverage at all, apart from locally.

Notting Hill carnival is more than 10x bigger in terms of attendance
