O/T fracking to start soon say Cuadrilla

Funny how all the suitable sites seem to be up North.

Solar panels and wind farms spoil the landscape apparently but drilling sites are fine?

This method of gas extraction takes huge amounts of water. How's that looking when we've a hosepipe ban?

We never got a hose pipe ban over here.😁

What were the reasons for the minor tremors seen at that site? Was it said something like that the fault was more unstable that first thought or am I making that up?

A geologist described the underlying structure of the local area and the moss area in particular as being like a great big bowl of jelly. So pretty susceptible to any kind of seismic activity. There is a local fault around there of course.

Let's face it... The fact that these companies are even considering bribing the general public tells you everything you need to know about their motivation and precisely what you are dealing with. But if the people are genuinely willing to be bought off, rather than making a properly informed decision and considering the local impact, then what can you do?

I certainly won't be wasting my time and energy trying to stop the trucks rolling in this time around...

Where has there been mini earthquakes?? Facts please, not I felt something, whilst getting outta bed on match day.

You get a minor tremor if a bus passes your house. The minor tremors have been majorly overplayed by the great unwashed. We need this energy and if we had got onto it 10yrs ago we would know not be talking about an energy crisis but all the armchair revolutionaries have been up
In arms as usual. I would put it to a vote personally but that would never happen. Just glad we are finally doing something about the energy crisis enveloping this country.

Why do we need it?

We've been ** about for over a decade already and you could probably fart more gas than they've successfully recovered. Do you actually realise how the local landscape will need to change in order to extract the gas? Do you think one well is going to cut it?

What's wrong with Nuclear? We'd be sitting pretty now if we'd invested in nuclear technology instead of pinning our future on these ponzi schemes....

I've always said I'd 'follow the science' and I know this debate goes beyond that. Feels like even if they came out and proved it could be done safely people wouldn't accept it now. But I'm not entirely sure what the unbiased science is foe the area.

Part of me knows we are advanced enough to make this work, but also who wants it on our doorstep.

Might be late to the party on this but wasn’t the statement predicated with ‘Where there is local support’?

Don’t support it - make it clear through local action.

I continue to say that our political problems have a direct correlation to how engaged, or not, we are with the political process.

I hope this doesn't bring the mad middle aged Preston New Road harridans back onto the street. One of them clung on to my arm in Kirkham and wouldn't let go until I'd listened to her anti-fracking speech. If that had been a man holding onto a woman he'd have been arrested.

Are you crazy, mini earthquakes, pollution, ugly dirty blight on the landscape.😠

What 25% reduction on my gas bill you say!! ………. Get drilling!

Nobody would get a reduction on price for gas , we probably have enough gas in the North Sea to supply Britain ,but it is sold on the markets for vast profits . The country’s energy supply needs securing for the people 😡

Not much natural gas left in the North Sea, mainly oil…. 1.5 billion barrels worth though!

this Government has sat on its arse and watched this happen, we’re an island - why the fuck do we need to import oil, gas and ultimately electricity when we should have got our house in order years ago and have the ability to do so.
