O/T Ghosts/Spirits/The Afterlife

Never had one Paul.
My nearest was when my female cousin (aged 42) was seriously ill in Vic.
Went to see her with my Mum one Friday.
Next morning around 06 00 I was awakened by a blinding flash in my head.
Later that day we were told that my cousin had died at about 06.00 that morning.
Very strange.

Have had some very strange experiences in my time. Heard voices and rattling of chains,banging on windows etc. Never seen a ghost though.
Strange in these days of CCTV that one has never been sighted.
 
Saw a ghost in the Apollo Arcade/Jungle Jim's in the Tower years ago. I had a or still have a ghost in my apartment it moves things around when I am not here. Seen her once she was walking down my hallway I thought it was my daughter I walked down the hallway got to the living room and nobody was there. Checked my daughters room and she was fast asleep.
 
Never used to believe, then stayed with a group of friends many years ago at a converted chapel in Belper for a few days. Experiences included sound of footsteps on stairs - no one there, flashes in periferal vision, noises in room above which turned out to be locked with no access.

Didn't say anything at the time, didnt want to spook anyone. The next time I saw one of my mates the first thing he said to me unprompted, was 'I'm sure that place was haunted'.
 
I’ve never been a believer, and how anyone can take any of that seriously after seeing this is simply beyond me .......

Maybe talking about something else, but it fits the thinking.
 
If gohsts and spirits do exist would that mean the existence of God and Satan and Heaven and Hell??.
 
In Edinburgh a few years ago I went on one of the organised ghost walks.
I was advised against the ones where they dress up and try to scare the shit out of you and went on the underworld tour where they take you under the city where the majority used to live.

Now at this point may I say upto this ghost walk I didn't believe in ghosts in the slightest but.........

We were in a crowd of about 15-20 people and were being guided around the buildings. I thought if nothing else this has been very informative.
We entered what we were told was the cobblers. The guide said that a few months ago a german family was with her and their youngest child was extremely scared, until they entered the cobblers. He wandered off into the corner on his own and when the guide said that they were moving on the young lad said he would stay here and play with his friend. There was no one there. The guide explained that a young boy used to visit the cobbler to keep him company and play ball in the corner of the shop.

I looked at the Mrs and rolled my eyes.
At that precise moment my left hand went incredibly cold, as cold as itd be if it had been in a freezer for 5 minutes!! As quick as it became cold it subsided as quickly.

Did you feel that? I asked my wife.
Feel what? She said
How bloody cold your hand was I said, as we were holding hands at the time.
Nothing, she said you're imagining it.

After the tour I told the guide what had happened.
Oh that's a regular occurrence she said but he normally goes round a few people in the group.

I still have my doubts but i know what happened to me wasn't normal that night.
 
If there is an afterlife,what are we going to do for the next billion years.
Will we ever make the heaven/ hell PL.
Are we all going to be fit and healthy in the peak of our lives.
Will we rejoin our family or even pets.

What a load of tosh. Made up years ago to encourage you to go to Church.
 
'Ghosts' are experienced - aurally, visually, or both - as play-backs, not unlike the experience of hearing singers on record or actors on film. It's long been speculated that it may be possible to 'imprint' sounds and/or images on various types of material under diverse conditions. Some refer to this as the Stone Tape theory. What's interesting about alleged sightings of ghosts is that they seem to always 'behave' in the same way, in the same places, at the same times.
 
My eldest worked at the tower for a few summer seasons.
In that time he has heard a little lad tapping on the door and laughing from the inside after a total check of the area and lock up of jungle jims.
Also an edwardian gentleman in cape and top hat wandering around the ballroom.
