O/T PNE hosts BBC Radio 2 Park Festival

Have to painfully admit it is good that these type of Festivals are coming to the North instead of being in London and the South, but for Blackpool have we missed out on a big opportunity here?

Surely Sadler needs start considering about hosting gigs at Bloomfield Road after the success of Neil Diamond and Rob Stewart, didn’t even Barry Manilow perform here?

It's not PNE it's Moore Park
 
Radio 2 were giving thousands of free tickets away to locals at Deepdale this morning.......Definitely got that idea from PNE's Under 11's
They also said it was now a sell out.....First time that's ever been said at Deepdale.

*NOTE.....Radio 2 just announced there have been 25,000 tickets returned within the first 30 minutes of Preston being announced as the location....
 
Tbf, Moor Park is a good location for these types of things. It's a big open space of nothingness, close enough to the 'city' centre and not too far from major transport links (world renowned bus station included).

Did they give out inflatable clappers!
 
Last year it was Tears for Fears, Kylie, Deacon Blue, Texas, Soft Cell, Bananarama and others. Plus the DJs do their thing too I.e Romesh spins hip hop, Rylan plays Ibiza tunes and so on. All mainstream but guaranteed to sell out and bring pleasure to the attendees.
 
Imagine the gates opening and the big sprint across Moor Park to be on the front row.

After the event, organisers commented "we've never seen so many people move so fast. It's almost like they've done it before...."

P.S. I thought the tickets were free?......We are talking Preston, there will be hell to pay, if they have to pay full price for a ticket..to anything!!!
 
Meeeeewer Park is actually quite pleasant, it's no Stanley obviously but in Preston you've got to take what you're given.
