May I ask anyone is it best to do the speed awareness course ?
Yes…I unless your insurer is Admiral as they count attending these courses as the same as having points and you invalidate your policy for anything other than 3rd party if you don’t tell them you’ve been on one.Absolute tossers - van on the prom . 36mph -

Nope, I probably break the speed limit everytime I get behind the wheel of my car and I've been caught a couple of times.
What I did do was accept it, put it down to experience and not blame anyone but myself.
They’ll catch you doing 36 in a 30 but the car doing 40 in a 60 causing a huge tailing queue of frustrated drivers (often trying to overtake) are not stopped.
Second one to me is more dangerous but first one collects cash
Totally agree, speeding, driving excessively slowly in relation to the speed limit, lack of lane discipline on motorways and use of mobile devices, just highlight the number of bad drivers on our roads. That and people doing 60 in the middle lane of the motorway not overtaking really piss me off.
Must agree there. That and people doing 60 in the middle lane of the motorway not overtaking really piss me off.
YawnWhy have you felt the need to post your incredibly witty reply for a third time?
As I originally posted above.
Lane Lurkers really piss me off too. That and people doing 60 in the middle lane of the motorway not overtaking really piss me off.
The answer is simple don’t speed and you won’t get caught and you won’t have to call people tossers for enforcing national speed limits.
They are there for a reason.
Bet you’re fun at parties.Nope, I probably break the speed limit everytime I get behind the wheel of my car and I've been caught a couple of times.

Of course I’ve broken them who hasn’t?So you've never ever broken the speed limit?
I'd say it's impossible not to have.
DP,I try to keep to the speed limit, MrsDP says 'You're speeding' even if I go to 32mph. So I have to keep to the limit.
Gone are the days when I was Telegram Boy on the BSA Bantams.
I was driving the Bantam on The Moss one day when there was a Buzz in my riding helmet earflap.
A bloody wasp stung my ear lobe. I flung both hands to my ear, then realised I was doing about 40+mph.
I stopped the bike immediately.
Such is life.

Several years ago I was done twice on the same day on Preston New Road, driving to and from town for a game against Barnsley. Took the speed awareness course to save 3 of the points, well worth it to avoid having 6 points on the licence. We got stuffed 3-0 as well, a day to remember for all the wrong reasons. I make bloody sure I stick to the speed limits driving in Blackpool nowadays.Absolute tossers - van on the prom . 36mph -

I did one a couple of years ago online and the guy who took it was anything but officious.I just took the points as I didn't want to waste time being lectured by some officious prick.
I’ve done a few… they’ve trimmed them down over the years… The early ones included a practical driving assessment and lasted the full day.I did one a couple of years ago online and the guy who took it was anything but officious.
He was very funny and made it a very pleasant experience even though none of us wanted to be on it.
I’ve got news for you. They’re in the third lane too!!!!That and people doing 60 in the middle lane of the motorway not overtaking really piss me off.
But you still come on here ?I just took the points as I didn't want to waste time being lectured by some officious prick.
I did it to spare myself the points and like many on here found it really interesting. The fact that stuck with me most was hitting someone at 20 mph gives the victim an 80% chance of survival. Hitting them at 30 mph gives them a 20% chance of survival.Absolute tossers - van on the prom . 36mph -

Yes, did it myself at the start of Covid, mobile camera on a deserted country road near Haworth, I didn't find the course remotely interesting to be honest.Absolute tossers - van on the prom . 36mph -

Sounds like you need it based on your reaction to being caught breaking the law. The difference between 30mph and 36mph could have been the life of a child.Absolute tossers - van on the prom . 36mph -
