Even though I’m a season ticket holder, come to every game and have done for years, now I don’t have any family who still live in the town it must be 10 years - maybe longer - since I was last on the front.
Watching Strictly - what is the glass building to the right of the tower as you look at it from the prom?

A hotel that never got finished, it’s got a restaurant and bar on the prom side.

A bloody bankrupt eyesore that ws supposed to be a 5 star hotel!

Those that passed this monstrosity, in a prime position on the promenade, should be ashamed of themselves.

Anyone been inside? How far in to construction did they get? Pass it every day and wonder about that!

You can still see the Palace nightclub, Sands, Rio's and the Yellow submarine downstairs. They just built round them. Very Blackpool, think I'd rather stop at the crooked house on Nelson Rd.

Have to laugh at this.
This was posted by the council in June 2021.
2 years and 4 months later, and this tiny road (between the train station and the new hotel) (High St.) is still closed 🤣

Can they take a bit of the fund for bailing out private eyesores and use it to clean the streets now and again please?

Our road looks like 28 Days Later.

Shirley Ballas is on the TV now saying she loves Blackpool and she lives here and has done since she was 7 years old. Never knew that? Google her and it says she has a mansion in London.

C'mon JJPool time to get your defensive hat on😉👍🏻
It's probably already been covered in my other thread.

But found this to give some an idea.

Not sure I've seen a date for the hotel yet?

But there's a nice looking bar.

And a wild west diner.

The showtime museum, celebrating Blackpools history, will be in the hotel too.

And open in March apparently.

I don't really get some who've said it's an eyesore either. Whilst not my favourite building ever, it's far from bad IMO when you look at some of the shite in a bad state, black steel and glass looks way better than that and will do once its open and windows cleaned...

My mum has donated her saxophone and a load of photo's to the museum as a feature on the Ivy Benson Band (which my mum was in). They were unique at the time in being an "all women" dance band in the 1950's working mainly summer seasons between Blackpool and Ramsay in the Isle of Man.
