Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by the Indians with an unbelievable excuse and stuck two fingers up to the fans who were due to attend and paid good money! What are people's thoughts about boycotting India because of their disgraceful late withdrawal from the test match because of wanting to ensure they were available for the IPL? Having travelled from Lincolnshire with 2 others, we were just 15 minutes from the ground when it was cancelled.I know many others that had also travelled and had booked hotels and no compensation has been offered. I already know of a couple of others saying they will boycott them in future tours.
If, as suggested, the replacement India test next year will not be in Manchester then thats the final kick in the teeth of this farce. The BCCI never wanted the fifth test to go ahead. They should have had the balls to say before they came, “we‘re not playing it”. And then deal with the consequences. Instead they let their players do their work for them.Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by the Indians with an unbelievable excuse and stuck two fingers up to the fans who were due to attend and paid good money!
Can't agree about Malan, certainly worth a place in the team, we'd be crazy to drop him.I agree Jaffa, no way should anybody out of form be in the team, just because he's skipper doesn't make any difference, he's done an amzing job as skipper for me but current form means everything. I'm still annoyed he's left Alex Hales on the naughty step and not recalled him by now and I've always maintained Dawid Malan is more suited to Test cricket than T20's, his strike rate is not good enough for this format. James Vince who is a traveling reserve should play in the middle order for me. I think as stated India are favourites and the team to beat, but we are more than capable of winning this thing even though we are definitely in the tougher group of the two.
And to make things worse, the rearranged game for 2022 is now being played in Birmingham and not ManchesterI thought that was absolutely terrible. They must have known it was happening, both sides. Wouldn't have been the same fielding a second or third string but it would have been better than cancelling the whole shebang at the last minute like that. It was a complete cock up and there should have been some sanctions against India for that
Just shows how money is ruling everything these days
