Filling a spot and nothing moreYou have to ask yourself why he was signed in the first place when clearly no better than what we already had.
Especially when our manager said that would never happen.Filling a spot and nothing more
There's a player in there, but it looks like his attitude stinks. You have to ask yourself why he was signed in the first place when clearly no better than what we already had.
Keepers don't count so it is a squad of 19 out of 22 and 2 of the players are 20 or underIf Dale goes I make that a squad of 22:
Grimshaw
O’Donnell
Chapman
Ekpiteta
Pennington
Connolly
Husband
Gabriel
Lyons
Coulson
Norburn
Morgan
Virtue
Carey
Finnigan
Hamilton
Dembele
Lavery
Rhodes
Beesley
Kouassi
Joseph
Surely at least one more in before the deadline?
A couple of those don’t count towards the squad registration limits - so there’s deffiniteky room for 1 or 2 moreIf Dale goes I make that a squad of 22:

Oh come on @Grayth - he was awful - I’m not part of the D&G Brigade but let’s not think he was any better than he was.Come on AVFTT, get him slagged and be sure to catastrophise about our transfer policy in the process.
Not a case of players counting. Just saying we’re suddenly a bit thin on the ground with Dougall, Dale (most likely) and Oakley-Boothe goneKeepers don't count so it is a squad of 19 out of 22 and 2 of the players are 20 or under
That's not taking into account that goal keepers don't count towards the cap and neither do u21 players so we have room for 3/4 more in reality. I doubt that we get that many in, I'm just saying we have that sort of space. If Dale goes I make that a squad of 22:
Grimshaw
O’Donnell
Chapman
Ekpiteta
Pennington
Connolly
Husband
Gabriel
Lyons
Coulson
Norburn
Morgan
Virtue

Don't be daft Grayth that never happens on here, oh wait a minute take a look at the Finnigan thread!Come on AVFTT, get him slagged and be sure to catastrophise about our transfer policy in the process.
Solid start, nice one.Oh come on @Grayth - he was awful - I’m not part of the D&G Brigade but let’s not think he was any better than he was.
I call it the Joe Nuttall mentality where you can’t say a player is crap because it makes you negative and mean even though he clearly is crap!
agree . he was dog shit but good luck to him in the futureOh come on @Grayth - he was awful - I’m not part of the D&G Brigade but let’s not think he was any better than he was.

Oxford away he wasn't to good either. The worst 45 mins of football I’ve ever seen a Blackpool player have at Fleetwood away. Hopeless.
Where's "Dale leaving" coming from? Not a case of players counting. Just saying we’re suddenly a bit thin on the ground with Dougall, Dale (most likely) and Oakley-Boothe gone
According to reports he's having his medical in OxfordWhere's "Dale leaving" coming from?
We lost nothing, except 8 months wages. Some free agents are worth a punt. Low risk, and we lost nothing.
He didn’t take his chances to keep his place in the team, shit happens. Room for 2 more players in the squad.
Looks delighted!
He’s a good footballer but playing in league 1 against proper pros was too much for himEstrela in Portuguese Prem.
Not a bad gig. Squires Gate to Lisbon.
Sometimes you take a gamble on a player with some talent there, but can you get it out of them and do they have the attitude and application. You have to ask yourself why he was signed in the first place when clearly no better than what we already had.
I agree but I remember when he came here many fans doubted he’d ever make it into the first team as a regular.Sometimes you take a gamble on a player with some talent there, but can you get it out of them and do they have the attitude and application.
I guess he fell short on some of those in the eyes of the manager and we had others lined up to improve the squad.
Yeah but we aren't privy to all that goes on and in the absence of other options he may have been an available calculated gamble to see what NC can do with him.I agree but I remember when he came here many fans doubted he’d ever make it into the first team as a regular.
Just 43 appearance many as substitute in a career spanning 6 years tells you all you need to know.
He’s 24 years old in a couple of weeks time so he should have pushed on a lot further in his career and he hasn't.
Catastrophize...really? I had to look it up and yes, it is spelled with a Z and that's because it's a word from over the pond. Who'd a thunk it.Come on AVFTT, get him slagged and be sure to catastrophise about our transfer policy in the process.
He is another who did not like the physical side of the game. Unless a player is an absolute world beater, a team cannot carry someone who is not prepared to tackle and go in where it hurts! Was just a squad filler and now we hopefully have better so makes sense.
He was a proper lazy fecker shame because underneath that he was technically decent.Technically OK but seemed way too lazy. Should have had his contract terminated for that 1st half display at Fleetwood. Maybe Portugal will suit him more but he's not a player I think we'll miss.
With no playing or sub bonuses to pay.We lost nothing, except 8 months wages.
If it’s such a trivial amount give Simon a ring and offer to pay the wages yourself. I’m sure he would be willing to accept. With no playing or sub bonuses to pay.
Might be a rocky few years ahead to balance the books, but hopefully the club doesn’t need to liquidate due to the 8 month deficit of a squad players wages…
