Oakley boothe over Dembele

Oakley-Boothe has not exactly impressed as he, he was poor at Oxford and worse against Peterborough. In fairness they are 2 difficult fixtures to be thrown into but he has struggled. We need Norburn back on Wednesday or we should be looking at a change in formation. Dembele and Lavery to start please.

The performance by Oakley-Boothe on Saturday was abysmal.

When out of possession he was marking space and just leaving there players to run rings around him.

When in possession he was hiding behind there players doing his best not to be an option.

The effort simply weren't there either, not sure how good he is technically but the rest of his game was horrendous.

ATLEAST BLOODY TRY.

Morgan had a good game vs Cheltenham, then immediately gets dropped to the bench.

Appreciate NC is trying to rotate the squad and keep them all involved, but he should always start with the best available side and utilise the subs better.

It’s a constant frustration with NC.

Not starting every match with Dembele is unforgivable.

Why are people mentioning Dembele and OB or OB and Apter in the same sentence? Absolutely and utterly different players and different roles.

Legit the equivalent of comparing Lavery and Grimshaw. Makes zero sense. Being asked to do the polar opposite things.

So far OB has been a mile off the pace. Morgan should have played on Saturday. Dembele should have played behind Rhodes and Kouassi instead of Carey.

What does OB provide, that Apter doesn’t do better?
Genuine question btw
I don't think they are vying for the same position at least in a Critchley team. Apter is probably in the same positional category as Carey/Dembele or even as a WB but that would probably have to be instead of CJ. Good to hear the positive feedback on Rob on the thread about him though.

OB was one of the worst players I have seen . Yes he is young etc but no way should he be near the first team. Is he better than Apter is he feck.

Hope to see Dembele getting 90 minutes soon, or at worst substituted after 70 minutes when we are well in front 🤞
He can only get better and I like what I see already

The lad is in the early throws of his career and hasn’t played much give him time to get up to speed.

It was risk avoidance against taking the risk. However, without creativity we are on the back foot and therefore at risk

I think OB has the skills he is just ring rusty, he will find his way in certain games this season and could be one for big improvements for next season.

And how, precisely, does giving him a run out with the first-team assist with this process?

Answer? On current showing, it doesn't! Still, as the time-honoured mantra goes - Critch knows best ...

Had no idea he played 18 games for Stoke in the championship during 2020/21, must have been pretty highly rated at the time he left Tottenham.

No reason to completely write him off after 2 poor games for a new club where he's coming to grips with new team-mates and a new system. That being said, I hope to God Norburn is back for Wednesday.

You know how it works with our fans by now surely ?

I was listening to a commentator last week and he basically said if Blackpool decide to go toe to toe with the opposition they are one of the Best sides in the division but it depends how they set up.
