Obscure songs that you love

Queen. Seaside rendezvous.
Sinead O'Connor, Mandinka
Sophie George, girlie girlie
Hoddle and Waddle, diamond lights

Huuuuge list. I have the most varied taste ever.

Not sure if this falls into the obscure category for most, but I have this hidden amongst the plethora of rock songs on my playlist in the car.

I just simply love this track.🧡

The Gunners Dream - Roger Waters.

Got tickets for his farewell tour, yesterday, going to be emotional!

😩

I usually find Waters’ political positions laudable, such as his support for the Palestinians against Israeli oppression and his detestation of Trump, but I cannot understand his attitude towards Ukraine.
I might be a bit biased, ive proclaimed on here many a time that I’m a big Waters fan, but I’m not ready to condemn him over his recent open letter.
I start with the premise that he’s a genuinely good man, trying to do what he can towards peace. He’s also very knowledgeable about the things the leading powers are willing to do to sway foreign governments to their agenda.
Although he’s lived in America for donkeys, he’s hyper critical about the things their government get up to regarding foreign policy. (The other ‘super powers, too).
During the build up to the invasion, I posted that I believed the former Soviet countries should never have been allowed to join NATO. Instead, they should have formed their own neutral bloc, with agreement from Russia and NATO that neither would enter their territory or the other would defend them - a buffer zone, if you will.
Waters is right to say that NATO have played a part in setting the scene for this current conflict. (That’s not to excuse or condone Russia’s response).
He’s also right to point out Ukraine’s recent history of extreme far right views in certain quarters, including elements of the military.

All in all, I think his heart’s in the right place, I just think he might have misjudged his methods this time.

He’s an ideologist, he so strongly believes that the world is for sharing that he doesn’t believe any country, or religion for that matter, is worth fighting for. Unfortunately most of the rest of the world disagree.

Sorry for the ramble, tin hat’s on.
Time for the game. UTMP
