Obvious positive

Hard to find positives from Burton
However I thought when Casey came on he showed what has been missing at the back
Casey has been one of the few successes of the season so far
He came on looked assured made a few covering interventions, that to be honest the starting 3 are just not fast enough to have done
The last few away defeats must surely prove that Casey or Ekpiteta must start in the middle of the back 3
I still think we have a good squad, it needs using sensibly and everyone should be playing for their place
I don't mind a back3 but ditch the inverted wing/backs

For whatever reason, Marvin looks uncomfortable whenever he gets the ball. Best defender by a mile, but can not play central in a 3. Pennington looks the most comfortable on the ball, but the current set up needs him on the right.

The only positive is that this crap Christmas so far has exposed the charlatans tactics and he will be forced into change hopefully. More of the same isn’t viable.
We won on Saturday are all you doommongers forgetting that or does the day before Christmas eve not count?

Same tactics near enough same team as against Bristol,we need to change on our travels as Burton played like the away team putting men behind the ball, maybe we should do the same and get some bore draws or the odd scabby win.

Or we could stick with the same tactics and carry on losing.

I'd go as far as saying all the subs did OK, Carey and Dale in particular. I'd expect both to start at Port Vale. Ideally Pennington will be OK and Connolly is dropped! The continued absence of King Kenny is a major concern, he's been our best player. I appreciate it is a personal issue and can only send best wishes to the lad and hope whatever it is gets sorted soon, he's head and shoulders above anyone else in the holding midfield role.

A back three is terrible. Doesn’t matter who we play.

A back 3 of Husband Ekpiteta and Pennington with Dougall in front v Pompey looked pretty good. Norburn in my opinion is the disruptive factor. Yes he had 1 decent game v Brizzle but didn't figure in the 3 wins previous, 4-0, 4-0 and 3-0 but has played in nearly all the crap, negative, boring, predictable losses.

I reckon Kenny has gone on strike! 🤣

We can't keep clinging onto the Portsmouth win. It was a one off and should be treated as such. It generally doesn't work no matter who we play away from home. We can talk about different players here and there but it makes no odds. The only and next change should be a complete change of formation.

Re: Pompey, I agree entirely. It was probably a bad thing. Critchley et al must have thought like in a boxing match we beat the best so we are now the best. Only for a journeyman called Northampton to face us in the next bout and put us on our arse.

It's bewildering how Connolly was ever chosen instead of Casey once he had served his suspension, I totally get playing Marv there and he improved with more game time. But, to select Connolly over Casey is bordering on plain stupid.
It was almost like it gave Critch an excuse - you could tell he'd been itching to bring Connolly back.
Our two success stories of the season have been the form of Casey and Dale and yet he seems to use any excuse not to play the latter either!
