Odds on a draw next week?

I think it’ll be a win for one of the teams. First 30 mins is crucial. Will the break help them or hinder them?

In the wider scheme of things a draw would be very acceptable. 4/6 against teams higher with, surely, 3 points to quickly follow would be fantastic.

Lets hope selection and tactics are fit for purpose.

I’d rather play and go for the win. If we keep the same side, even Carey,
there’s every chance of 3 points. No trying for a draw, go for the win. Anyone can beat anyone in this league. If we lose then at least we had a go and we move on.

Clever bit of quoting oneself there!

Definitely wouldn't take a point now. We're 8 points behind Oxford and they have a game in hand. And one point isn't a whole lot of use. Always play for three.
Exactly. It's Oxford, not Real Madrid. I doubt Oxford have spent more than 5 or 6 of the last 130 years above us in the pyramid.

I think Oxford are the best team in the League so far, so I'd definitely be happy if we get a point.

We won't though, I expect to get beat 2-0.

I'd always usually take a draw before a game but I see that second spot as the one which will become free and we're 8 points behind and they've a game in hand and so a win at this stage of the season would be really significant.

How does 130 year history come into play for Saturday though? It's probable that Brighton or Brentford haven't either, but I can't imagine either of those clubs would be shitting themselves because of historic league finishes versus Blackpool.

Similarly though some of your fans are quoting form, recent results and table position - all goes out of the window come 3pm on Saturday.
But doesn't that make sense? It's factoring in the current playing staff, manager, stadium, weather, mental health etc etc - all recent stats that the bookies themselves would use to forecast how things might play out.

All these notions of 'we were once Premier League' or 'had a nicer kit than you in 1996' (🤷🏻‍♂️), really, as you say go out of the window at 3pm on a Saturday; but if you're gonna make educated guesses you're going to use the most relevant information at hand.
