Ok It WAS a penalty to Iran his shirt WAS tugged so that is a foul but so was the rugby tackle on Maguire . What are the rules re what they look at & what they dont ? I'm unsure/confused

An embarrassment pal, McGuire being wrestled to the ground was many times more blatant than the Iran one, shame on VAR again.

The Ref probably thought it was too early in the game to use VAR. However he didn't actually need VAR for that one.
After that he didn't have too bad a game.

This is the problem though, isn't it? The rules should be applied from kick off t9 final whistle and if VAR should be reviewing things in a consistent manner. Not increasing with vigour as time passes.

Is it a clear and obvious error, though? If that sort of thing is going on at every corner, why is it an obvious error to not give that one in particular?
