I'm pleased it's only for the remainder of the season, as he's not a manager that gets a team playing particularly exciting footy. But needs must, and I think potting Appleton and bringing in Mick has enhanced our survival prospects significantly. For a start, the fans are going to get behind him and the team now, and there's unlikely to be any of the toxic atmosphere that would've undermined everything had Appleton stayed.
A sensible couple of decisions by the board, following six months of poor ones. If, and it's a big if, we get out of trouble and stay in this league, we can go for someone new and get back on track in terms of the progress we had been making in the last couple of years.
