Old Paris Casino building

Had a little walk past the ground yesterday & it looks like the front of the above building has had new panels put on the front , looks like someone doing it up , anyone know anything about it ?

There are some newly installed security fences which don’t look exactly customer friendly. I’m hopeful the arcade business has decided to look elsewhere and that the building will come down. If it’s getting tarted up that’s not great news. You would expect that any development of the East would include that parcel of land.

If the club and the Council are planning to develop the east stand and the whole of the area through to Central Drive then surely it will be subject to a CPO and bulldozed? As others have said, it should have been demolished ages ago as tye whole thing is an eyesore and out of place

Buried in my notes somewhere for the book I have someone from the club telling me the East Stand was given something like a 15 year shelf life by the developers. They’ll be coming up to that point soon.

I’ve actually managed to trawl up the planning docs and a recent article about the venue and it does appear to be opening in the coming weeks.
As a business it’s a great idea and I hope it does well. Will hopefully even help bring business to the club and hotel in the short term.
In the long term I hope the owners and club can work together to make sure the business can be included in any long term development of the area and doesn’t limit the clubs plans at all.
It would seem they don’t own the building itself going off of their reasons behind moving into that premises (as per the planning docs)

Yes, my view would be that whatever business is going to be run from that building, could be incorporated into the East Stand.
