Oldham

Salford City arseholes, a vanity project in a city where nobody is arsed about football, relegate a proper football club from the league. What a bunch of c***s. I'm really quite upset.
Absolutely agree. I donā€™t blame Oldham fans for protesting at all. And itā€™s a shame that Salford are going to be given 3 points as a result. Bunch of shitehawks.

As for the BBC coverage, well their EFL coverage has deigned to include the words of George Boyd who was presumably the pundit for Salford on local radio. He called the protest ā€œembarrassingā€. The BBC donā€™t get any better do they?

Add to that Andy Richie spouting off too on Radio Manchester. Obviously another in the Terry Alcock mode

Good for Oldham fans. There's very few options left for those fans, the ELF have done nothing to protect them against predatory owners, so why not take direct action. You'd expect Salford fans to be more sympathetic.

Yeah let's blame Salford and the BBC for all this šŸ™„

And then still getting the commentary job despite a) being a Vichy wanker and b) being a terrible commentator.
I think you would struggle to find a worst commentator. He calls a goal when it's not one so often it's embarrassing and is so biased towards Blackpool it's impossible for the listener to get any true picture of the game and how we are doing. If you get video with his commentary it just shows up how much he misses and gets wrong.
The worst is his judgemental attitude. We all know about the Huddersfield game but he started doing it in the last game towards Brum fans for standing up. Thommo just shut him down immediately. I'd like to know the last time he actually paid to watch a game or didn't get travel expenses for travel.
He just grates on me and many others. He shouldn't be doing our games.

Listen to the audio on this - you can hear another fan shout ā€˜Get off the ******** pitchā€™ .. what you might call a Mushroom Mark 2!!

Takes me back to 2007 and the first leg at Boundary Park when we won 2-1 and then went on to win the home leg and get to Wembley. I went in their supporters bar after the game to meet some of their fans and they were gracious in defeat. They seem to have been dragged downwards since, and we have been through the Premier League, the boycott years and the court case, and the new era now under Sadler. I feel for those real fans of Oldham. And Scunny too. Mismanaged football clubs. We somehow avoided the worst effects of our terrible owners, but I'm sure it would have ended badly if we hadn't had the court case.

Admire the fans for taking some action against what has happened to their club.

Found it something of an over reaction by the headline seeking press to describing them as founder members of the Premier league though.

Again the EFL has to be hold accountable, how can these owners be custodianā€™s of football clubs that have been part of the community they serve, only to strip the soul out of the hear of the club!

A bit of a sad day for me, as one branch of the family tree goes back to Owdham.
And I don't like seeing another two old northern clubs falling out of the EFL.

On the plus side, it's very possible that two old northern clubs will replace them.
Thankfully, the risk of Boreham Wood or Bromley getting promoted has receded - with Crawley & Stevenage, we've seen enough poorly supported London suburbs / satellite towns coming into the league.

Feel sorry for them.
I still have nightmares of that last minute equaliser by Sugden which relegated us.
Oldham fans mocking us .
The events of that day still makes it hard for me to feel for them - they celebrated that scabby equaliser (not in the last minute, in the 94th minute after the fourth official had only indicated 2 to be played) like they'd won the European Cup.

Salford didnā€™t relegate Oldham but everything about them from Peter Lim their majority owner, their piss poor fan base, the disproportionate media coverage they get, is an example of whatā€™s wrong with modern football.
Make your mind up !!! Oldham apparently have shit owners that donā€™t care oh and Salford have shit owners that do care, actually fans like you are whats wrong with modern football šŸ™

His squeaky voiced mini-me is even worse if thatā€™s possible. Such a coincidence that two people called Chisnell have plum jobs on Radio Lancashire. Canā€™t think who that could have come about.

The thing about the football league is two teams always have to finish in the bottom two places. Thatā€™s kind of like the whole idea behind the competition. Just saying.
