Not a Critchley to go post.
Thompson a great coach, well everyone who I speak to says so, from the man on the street to pro footballers and other coaches/managers. Why no bigger clubs come for him, maybe they have but is happy in his role. Maybe picky in who he coaches for. I heard a rumour if Dobbie got the job he would of been his no2/assistant.

Before that win the Latics were in the relegation zone with Southend Utd, and York City and last season Yeovil dropped out of the National League. It's sad in a way to see such well established ex-league clubs struggling.

I lived in Oldham for some time many years ago.
My 1st wife was born there. My brother lived there until he died.
Like the town and the people.
Went to watch them often.
Hope they do well.
Sorry Dave, couldn't disagree more. Wife's family all from that neck of the woods. Decent people but horrible, depressing area. Always dull & bloody cold. Most end up moving to Cleveleys to escape.

Oldham will be fine. York are in the "difficult second season after promotion". Could go either way.

Yeovil are I think under new ownership and probably stabilising. Southend would be in the play off spots or thereabouts if it was not for the points deduction and could well get another in the next week or two, especially if Martin puts them into administration. Under embargo as well, and have about thirteen players - they are the ones under an existential threat, along (possibly) with Scunthorpe.

I dont think they just want to be fine.

They want promotion this season.

And, did you?
Ha Ha ha, part of a very old rugby song.

In Market Street Manchester one summer's night
There was only one cab on the rank
The driver was reading the New Of The World
And quietly enjoying a w***.
He dreamt that Venus was kissing his P****
The shaking was sending him mad
When a Waitress named Lena with T*** like Sabrina
Came along and gently enquired.
How much will you charge me to Oldham
The Taxi driver nearly dropped dead,
He had such a shock
He let go of his C***
and so on !!!!!
The rest would run me out of *s 😵😳

Scunthorpe going South in a big way, it seems. And it all looks entirely self-inflicted too.

Is that the owner who chummed up to the Oystons?
No that was Swann**. This guy is called Hilton and seems to have shut down most or all of the club's social media down in the last day or so, having banned a number of fans from it first. He's also put the fan base on notice that he is looking for a buyer and will only spend the bare minimum while that happens.

Nothing is new under the sun, it would seem.

** edit to add, the two are at loggerheads over issues relating to access to the stadium and the land that it sits on.

Nope. At least he's looking for a buyer if he's being honest. Owen never did that.....

If Thommo doesn't get appointed at Oldham, I'd have him hear in a shot - intelligent, likeable, football man - no thrills - totally gets it.
If Oldham do give him the job Radio Lancs have lost their best summariser.

Undefeated under Thommo and climbing the table - is Sadler really saying that Dobbie/Thommo wouldn't have been a more exciting prospect than what we have?
