One rule for us, another...

Despite being in close contact with Javid, Sunak and Johnson won't be self isolating.

Different rules apply, some new pilot scheme.

Even the Sun thinks its a bit off with pilot in quotation marks

I’m shocked 🤧 you mean people actually think that Johnson works?

Meanwhile, Jerry Yates is to take part in a pilot scheme in which he cannot be offside at any time during a match,it has been revealed on the eve of the new football season.

“I’m as surprised as anyone” said Yates “it’s almost as if there were one rule for me and one rule for everyone else” he stated “I wasn’t even aware there was such a pilot scheme”.

We should know by now, any rule usually followed can be got out of by a new invented trial, pilot scheme.

I've said this needs to end as half the country will be shut down so common sense would say if your testing daily after contact your ok with no symptoms until your not.

But of course we don't have the option of the special trial.

To be honest when I heard pilot scheme I was relieved to find out ot was just this and not..... this....

With all the NHS app pinging loads of people in an inconsistent way and getting them to self isolate when most are not positive, I am amazed that the NHS and the Goverment haven't made 2 changes.
Firstly, to make the app less sensitive (people are even getting pinged because of people on the other side of the walls of semi detached houses). Secondly, if a person gets pinged, they take an immediate lateral flow test (which are readily available via the NHS) and if positive they get confirmation via a PCR test and self isolate. If the lateral flow test is negative they don't self isolate but keep testing for a few days to ensure continued negative tests. I can see them having to change the arrangements or suspend the app before the mid August double jab changes, simply because too many will be self isolsting.
The same problem occurs in schools when the whole of a class or bigger bubble is told to self isolate if a pupili tests positive. They have shown that 95% of those self isolating are actually not positive. Causes total disruption to pupils, parents / carers and teachers.
These are practical, common sense, risk based changes they could make, especially as we are doing more tests per head of population than anywhere else in the world.

The headline says it all. Jeremy Corbin had a rally in Bradford last week and only informed the council on the day it was due. The Clowncil allowed it to go ahead. Around 100 turned up as well as two local MP's. No social distancing and few masks. If that had been you or I wanting to arrange similar, do you think we would be allowed to go ahead? NO is the answer.

Let’s just be generous for once and assume he was advised to do the pilot scheme as he’s responsible for running the country, he then realised it wouldn’t be fair and said, no I’m going to do the right thing and isolate.

I have always considered myself a centreist conservative, but my, how times have changed. I can't relate to them at all anymore and for the first time in my life I am likely to vote labour in the next general election, if thy get their act together that is. The trouble is there is no guarantee of that. The Liberals are a waste of time so there has never been a better time for a new centre party, they could clean up with the right candidates and the right policies. The problem we have is that we have so many voters who are so entrenched in their views they won't vote against what they have always done. it seems impossible for some to look at what's happening and make decisions based on those, they would rather say I'm a Tory or Labour and that's that.

I'd describe myself as such, we have veered so far right it makes me chuckle how people brand me a leftie on here. I have voted tory in the past, what we have is the most corrupt, dishonest and incompetent buffoons running the country. Unfortunately the first past the post system doesn't lend itself to new political parties. The SDP tried it with limited success but I agree with your sentiment. This lot are so corrupt, I wouldn't put it past them to completely subvert democracy in their favour.

In a rapid U-Turn its now been announced that Jerry Yates CAN be found to be in an offside position BUT only in his own half - the new rule to he known as the Jerry Yates Off-Licence Position.

Vote for the party of the future if you're all discontented, it may seem like a waste presently, but the Greens are sorting themselves out nicely.

Or change the voting system for PR I don't believe a new party would make any difference we just have the left and right bickering over them a bit like Avftt. 😁

You must live in a different Blackpool south than I do.
Why is he a **?? Have you met him?
is it because he is keen to re generate south shore, or is it cos he visits many businesses to listen to their concerns, is it because he is very approachable and listens to residents issues or is it because he’s made his base in Blackpool and doesn’t live mostly in Brighton? Surely it can’t be because he got into a couple of football matches for free can it😯

I was put forward for this trial when my housemate tested posititve about 3 weeks ago. I had a 50% chance of getting on the trial but had to notify and get permission from my boss to go to work. I was notified by telephone but fell into the wrong 50% and had to continue isolation.

Maybe because in desperate time of need, he voted against meals for kids, and has not made any of the promises he spouted on my doorstep pre-election.

I have met him and I think he’s a **.

Is that why he’s turned off replies on his twitter account then? Because he is sooo approachable!

Wonder he’s got time to be out and about in South Shore what with all his free sporting events, sorry, sorry, fact finding missions and being on here all the time defending the indefensible, sorry I mean presenting Tory policy in a friendly and approachable manner!

People were chosen at random to take part, people like Gove, Johnson, Javid and Sunak, completely at random - a possibility, but they might want to give the bag a shake before every minister get’s pulled out or people might begin to think something fishy is going on!

No jealousy from me, my life is great thanks and in any case the lovely Paul Maynard is my MP and his twitter allows constituents to ask questions, and sometimes he even replies.

Apparently the liar we call a Prime Minister briefly considered taking part in the scheme meaning he would not have to self isolate but then considered he should do as so many in the country are doing and self isolate in solidarity.
Meanwhile he sent out one of his corrupt minions to explain and defend not self isolating.
Only when condemned by so many of his own right wing apologists such as Tim Montgomie and Isobel Oakeshott did the U turn come.
He still has the front to tell blatant lies about it though.

He must be dizzy with the constant u turns.

Who on earth is advising him and told him it was a good idea to cook up some taking part in a pilot bollox?

Clearly the same one who told him that Hancock should ride out the storm and he shouldn't sack him.

Serious question but why do you think they are sorting themselves out? They seem to have lost both co-leaders in the last week, so currently I have no idea who is likely to be in charge and whether that’ll result in any sort of change of direction.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m generally sympathetic to their message it’s just that they don’t come across as a serious political party.

And that’s before we get started on the FPP system.

I think that Caroline Lucas is probably the most effective opposition MP at the moment. Apart from her they need some more credible talent.

I think most folk focus on their environmental message, with which I mostly agree, however their actual politics is not much removed from Corbyn. And here in Scotland they support the SNP.

They got completely undone on economic policy during the last election campaign, it was amateur stuff.
If they want to become a serious political force they need some credible, clear thinking people who can put together a realistic policy agenda.
If they could do that and with a charismatic leader (Caroline Lucas fits the bill) then they would probably be the most popular opposition party.
Their time is yet to come.
