As this comes to it's inevitable end, the British Veterinary Association has been inundated with bids by Vets throughout the country to put Big Dog down.
The current highest figure is paying £5,250 for the privilege, but this does include very painful castration as well.
All proceeds are going to Battersea Dogs Home.
