The BBC have just launched a new website called Rewind that has over 30,000 re-digitised film clips from our past and from all walks of life across the UK.
I've just been on and quickly typed in Blackpool and a 3 minute clip came up of a Blackpool 1976 Centenary street party from Aintree Road which is superb to look back on. I even recognised a girl I went to Palatine school with, I think her name was Hazel Long? Anyway, being the old lover of history that I am this'll keep me busy for the next week or so until the season kicks off - check it out!

Excellent site. I just typed in Stanley Matthews and up came footage of the damage done to his car after it was hit by a lorry in Leek in 1966. Looks like he had a lucky escape from serious injury considering the damage done.
