Bit early for end of year threads but so what.
What‘s your best purchase this year ?

For me it’s my Dunlop wellies. Bloody love them. I wish it wasn't somehow bad etiquette to wear them at the supermarket or to the Trafford Centre, because I feel totally liberated and countrified when I’m strutting around in them on my dog walks 🥰 ( though I have snuck into Sainsburys with them on a couple of times 🥹)

Up the Wellington Boot 👍

You ?

Get a pair of muck boot wellies. Brilliant things, dead warm and comfy so much better than normal wellies. In fact they are more comfy than my walking boots.

A decent quality waterproof jacket & my usual waterproof boots, paid dividends of late. Great for in the country, hills or general use round here & are accepted in most supermarkets too.😀

I know it’s a bit of a weird one, and some of you might need to Google what the hell im on about - however mine is Yeti Juice, pre workout.

Jeez you can literally be half comatose and two scoops of that stuff in a shaker, and within twenty mins you are literally like Jerry Yates on vodka redbull. Massive massive energy kick and focus. Stuff is crazy.

Oh and I bought some vintage braces which look cool as with a t-shirt, of Japanese collar shirt.

Yep, I buy cheap wellies from Carrs Billington, always the same type. They only last 6 months to a year or so with heavy use, but living in the country and having dogs, it is our default footwear. Mrs spud buys expensive designer ones that are more comfortable to walk in around the lanes. Her latest are pink.

Best buy are my Hoka Bondi trainers which are ace for long distance walkers, or anyone with knee injuries who do sport. Means I can play tennis or run without next day pain...

Does it give a massive come down after though ? I get a come down from one latte.

We used to get those T5 pills from Pro Muscle on Church St, ingredients look similar. They were excellent but then the formula changed and gave us the worst indigestion.

They did the same with so many fat burn / pre workout powders when they removed DMAA. Now that was the real deal - stuff like jacked with that in it was outrageous.

Admittedly people did die because of it but mainly total cretins who ignored the max levels recommended

Yep, we never did more than one pill at a time, that was more than enough.

I don't think DMAA is a million miles away from the behind the counter Sudafed which I've known people use before a gym session.

Best purchase (illegal) for me, IPTV subscription 😬

Best purchase for MrsTSS: Electric Corsa

Best purchase for TSSJr1: A card to celebrate his swearing into the police

Best purchase for my TSSJr2: Winter tyres (student paramedic and she feels much more confident when she's going to and from placement at all times of day and night)

Best purchase for TSSJr3: Late decision away tickets v Barnsley!

Best purchase for the family: Dougall (below!)

Dougall 🥰

I guess it’s got to be the Cosatto Trail stroller bought to take our new(ish) grandson, Charlie, out for walks. Just love it when people glance into it and admire him. Well he is a bloody cutie after all! 😀

Having said that though, it could actually be the air fryer which is an absolute revelation after years of stupidly procrastinating 😂

Apple air tag, bag went missing for 11 days with American Airlines two years back.
Had a few other cases go missing but only two or three days.
My lad got me one for Christmas, it’s brilliant tells me exactly where it is.
I’ll be on it next week as I fly back with a case full if gifts. Always apprehensive like everyone else at baggage reclaim.
When it tells me it’s 0.1 miles away I know it’s arrived 😀

My Husqvarna chainsaw. Oh yeah.
We are not really supposed to cut down standing trees in my local woods, but if it’s standing there dead and dry… a little push and down it comes and a few weeks later it’s gone up in smoke.

Living where it is flippin cold in winter (minus 11 last weekend ), and walking dogs, winter Hunter wellies, fleece lining. Bought a new pair this year having worn the old ones down. Wear 'em everywhere when its wet and muddy, shops and all, although long walks are still la Sportiva's or Meindl snow boots.

However, I posted a pic of my best buy this year last week. ❤️ Mossy

You’ve just given me a nice Xmas gift idea there Goose 👍

Best purchase this year was being told I needed bi-focal glasses. This in itself is a bit boring but I paid to have Transitions photochromatic lenses in them. Not cheap but what a revelation. My glasses turn into sunglasses. I bought a nice big thick frame so they look like sunglasses too and now cannot take them off. Used to wear lenses every day and glasses just in the evening.

Love them. Not at all a cheap affair but well worth it.

Best purchase this year was a 250ML bottle of New York Intense by Nicolai the Parfumeur Createur I got off a website for £130
Normally a 100ML bottle is £130, so someone made a massive mistake on the price.
I decanted 20 x 10ML samples and sold them for £15 each on eBay....made £200 or £70 profit and kept the remaining 50ML for myself....

I also picked up a full 50ML bottle of Oligarch by Roja Dove for £90 and sold it for £270

Unless you collect fragrances, this means nothing to anyone...but I was so happy.......I know, I'm quite sad!!!

Was thinking about getting some when I last changed my glasses, but Optician said the photochromic bit doesn't work behind glass, ie in a car?

The Transitions lens does. I paid a premium for it but it's brilliant when driving.

THE ONLY POLARIZED LENS FOR DRIVING WITH COLOR AND LIGHT ADAPTATION.

Combining the benefits of photochromic and fixed polarization, Transitions® Drivewear® provide you with the optimal vision experience and color contrast while you are driving, reacting to both UV and visible light. The lens colour and the level of darkness adapt to light conditions while driving.
