Sorry am doing an Allez for a bit of light relief.

What foods did you only start liking with age ?

Marmalade
Mushrooms
Corned beef
for me …..

You ?

Frey Bentos are odd, we start in our young years thinking they're a posh pie when your mum cooks them, then realise they're bollocks for 60 years, then as soon as you hit 75 you're back on the Fray Bentos. Fact.
Yep, the filling isn’t so good but I like the pastry on them. And being tinned they keep forever in the larder.

Tomatoes (no idea why, but I only started liking them in my late teens)
Marmite
Guinness (sill hate whisky or any other spirits)

Bloomfield Road Pies 😁

Tomato juice with Worcester sauce, Tabasco, lemon slice and black pepper. Oh, and a little vodka. That’s food, not a drink.

And you can substitute V8 vegetable juice instead of plain tomato juice. Then you are definitely getting your 5-a-day.

Still cant think of eating it as I have aged, tongue a great put off at buffets.
To this day I cant get my head around people having chocolate and peanut butter spreads for breakfast.

Smoked fish (any fish!)

oysters
cockles
water, unless it contain at least 5% alcohol.

Only if you can still operate a tin opener😉

Actually the one thing I do miss( the other half would never contemplate it) is a mince beef (pastry topped) pie with chips, peas and lashings of proper gravy☹️

Any cheese.
Curry.
Fried or grilled tomato.
Still do not like: olives (though I like olive oil on a salad), smoked fish, smoked bacon, tuna.

Don’t be sorry Karen you’ve already got 30 times more replies than comical Allez would. 🤣👍

I wouldn't eat Beetroot until I was in my mid-twenties, due to being sick in primary school after eating it in a winter salad. I blamed the beetroot as its colour stood out in the mess. Silly, but true.

I was the same with Beetroot and Celery, I missed many a playtime refusing to eat those two items, and yet I loved Beetroot butties.

Wife had the latter this morning…the crunchy version on Thick Toasted( Black Sheep) Tiger Bread…I love salted peanuts and peanut satay style sauce but can’t bring myself round to peanut butter spreads😳

Turned veggie over 25 years ago and now eat pretty much any veg many of which I never touched as a child including sprouts, broccoli, red peppers, avocado, aubergine plus all sorts of lentils and beans.

Blue fillet steak
Oysters (first tried them on holiday…fortunately it hadn’t gone beyond the point of no return when I realised I hated it.. . ) Love them now
Camembert
Green olives

Oysters. When a lad I could never understand why anyone would ever think to eat one. Then, in my early 30s I was taken to the oyster house at the Weir of Kilcogan, south of Galway where I tried them for the first time, fresh out of the bay. A moment of true gastronomic epiphany.

Mushrooms
Scampi
Ready salted (plain) crisps
As a youngster did not like these at all…as I grew up and developed a cosmopolitan outlook on life I learned to appreciate these delights…
