OT - Poulton vs Lytham

Happy in FY4 TBH. Wife has fancied Lytham but to get anything decent we'd be skint. Go to Lytham, StAnne's of PLF for a meal & beer now & again, but Lytham tops the Hooray Henry count & I always get a dirty look from the Mrs when doing my rather loud "Oh I say Charles" piss-take.

The question is Lytham v Poulton so if I had to choose one it would be Lytham.
I can afford to sell my house in Blackpool and increase my mortgage and move to Poulton but couldn't Lytham.

Poulton for me is one of the most overrated areas on the Fylde coast pubs are average no better than anywhere else, the place has tons of takeaway food restaurants and shopping is shite.
Takeaway food restaurants is a bit harsh imo. Poulton has some banging places to go for for food all different cuisines.

We've lived in a few places in The Fylde.
Currently PLF.
Unfortunately Blackpool Old Rd, where we now live, is like a race track.
Moronic driving. I'm waiting for the inevitable to happen.

Newbury I faced the same decision, albeit nearly 30 years ago. Both the mrs and I are from Bispham. We decided on poulton and we have never regretted it.
We are walking distance to the centre which is great and has improved massively since we moved here.
There is of course always room for improvement.
You’re not really comparing like for like. PLF has more of a large village feel, Lytham is a lot bigger and more spread out.
My sister lives in Lytham and the few occasions we go out there reinforces my opinion that we chose the right place to live.

I am looking at this as a potential issue in the years ahead. What I have read has made me think that St Anne’s, or Ansdell, is the way to go if we were to eventually move North, But I grew up in the South Fylde and my family and friends live there, so I am biased I suppose,
