Amol Rajan taking over from Paxman tonight.

Good choice that. I like Amol, knowledgeable bloke, good SOH.

For any cricket fans he's written a really interesting book called Twirlymen, labour of love about the history of spinners. Great read.

Difficult act to follow. Thought he did OK, but I was struggling to catch quite a bit of what he said.
Paxo was getting hard to listen to as well though because of his very unfortunate illness.
I am sure given a few episodes I will start following it better and get more “tuned in” to getting the wrong or no answers and less focused on the new guy.

Yes his ‘gabbling’ style isn’t really suited to this sort of programme.
He’s similar on Today where at times he’s bordering on incoherent.

I could do without the ‘estuary English’, missing the second ‘t’ sound in the word ‘twenty’ for example.

On the positive side he’s much faster than Paxman, whose question delivery was getting pretty slow in his later years.
