Other Top 6 Club Squad/Injuries

Don't know how closely anyone else is following the Top 6 at the moment but how are they doing for squad numbers and injuries? We always said our squad size and a clean bill of health (which bar Bees we'll soon have) could be a significant factor for us in the second half of the season and am just wondering if we're finally seeing the fruits of that.
Of course the other thing is teams below us who might be a bit stretched financially and with squad numbers should really be there for the taking.

Is our squad that strong? We've only got 19 senior outfield players, plus Dembele and Kouassi. And quite a few of the 19 have had heavily disrupted seasons so far. Gabriel, Pennington, Norburn, Dougall, Virtue, Joseph, Lavery, Lyons, Beesley have all missed quite a bit and not really got going, apart from Dougall, who is going! Ekpiteta has had a weird season. Carey has been indifferent. Oakley B sounds like a nuclear reactor but probably won't be commissioned til the end of the decade. Just making up the numbers.

The players of the season so far thread struggles to rustle up an outstanding candidate apart from maybe Rhodes, who's gone off the boil lately.

So I think the strength of our squad gets over stated tbh. Certainly on the evidence of the first 28 league games. Hopefully the next 18 league games will prove otherwise. What we need is 8-10 players performing at a consistently high level and staying fit, and really wanting to win matches and get into the top 6 asap. We are starting to see that now from Morgan and Joseph. Coulson, Ekpiteta and Casey are looking pretty good. Dembele has quality moments. Gabriel is quality if he stays fit. Lavery too. Give Rhodes a rest and recharge his batteries. Lyons has more to offer. Pennington too, if he'd stop disappearing.

I believe Bolton are or were struggling with injuries a little at the moment so their lineups have been square pegs in round holes of late and the fans are desperate for new signings to backfill. That's the impression I've gleaned from several of their fans' comments anyway.

Interesting question. We definitely have match winners in there but also we have players capable of throwing games away.
I'd say we need a Richard Keogh character to join the defence and another player in the mould of Dougall as am not sure Carey or Virtue are up to it.

We might need a Houdini character by the end of February.
