Our goals in numerical order

After each game I record our results in a spreadsheet, and recently, even I noticed we had scored just one goal in a lot of games. I know there are "lies, damn lies, and statistics, but after sorting the table by our goals this is what we get:

Our goals Their goals

We've not scored 8 times (24%)

We've scored one goal 17 times (52%)

Two goals 5 times, (15%)

and three goals 3 times (9%).

I'm not a statistician but (like we've been saying for ages) - we need to score more goals! 😁

One piece of good news is that the last time we failed to score was in December 2021 - so things are looking up.

Well I thought it was interesting.

'Scoring more goals helps teams win matches' say Oxbridge boffins... 😉

Yes, and our stats support this research:

When we scored two goals, we won three and drew one out of five games.

When we score three goals, we win every game.

We're onto something here -- I'll pass this insight onto Mr Critchley. 😂

We aren't the lowest scores however. West Brom have one less, as do Millwall. Swansea and Derby have less. Hull, Posh and Barnsley. 6 teams with less than our 36, which is actually 37. Madine v QPR.
