Our North Stand. Our KOP.

I've got goosebumps now just thinking about the noise the North Stand is going to generate this season. Looking at the ST planner there are just a handful of seats left in there. I can't think of another club in this division that is going to have 2,000 fans behind the goal making such a wall of noise. It's going to be loud. It's going to be proud. And it's going to be intimidating for opposition players and fans.

I remember various managers commenting on our fans last time we were in this division. Various managers accusing referees of being intimidated by the supporters here. Well you can times that by ten this time around. We're on the crest of a wave and when you come to Bloomfield Road you better be ready for our Tangerine Wall behind that goal.

I totally agree but would also add it is important all home areas get behind the lads. There will be some tough games but we can make a big difference. I have no doubt the South Stand Ultras will be in fine voice also. 😁

I sat in the south last time we were all allowed to go and the noise from the north was insane, I hope all stands are bouncing next season and make it intimidating as possible for away teams

Wow didn’t know that it was named after that, cool stuff mate
The battle is named after the hill it was fought over. The football kops took their names in respect of the steepness of the terracing.
The battle had the usual mix, for the British army of the period, of heroics and blunders. The Boers held the hill as the British began the attack. After a long period of fighting (a lot of it hand to hand), both sides thought they were losing, and the Boers were surprised when the British retreated from the positions they’d gained, gifting the victory to the Boers (the British had taken the worst of it, though, but had reinforcements on the way).

Ghandi served as a stretcher bearer during the battle, and Winston Churchill, then a journalist, was acting as a courier between the lads on the hill and HQ.

It's the reason I know we won't go down, lotta drab library-esque atmospheres in the championship, they won't know what's hit them when they face our swirling cauldron of noise, these players are used to playing at places like deepdale where passion is, like showering, a bygone concept.

Just to be controversial for a moment, and I don't know why this is - maybe the way the stadium is built - having floated between the North and South over the years, the view from the South always feels superior. Is the South, in some way, closer to the pitch than the North?

You are correct . It's because the first row of seats , row c , is raised from ground level . This improves the viewing angle all the way back . ( Rows a and b are at ground level and reserved for people with disability)

Ahh yes but everyone in the Kop stands up. Raising everybody's viewing angle significantly 😝
