Home, won 14, drew 6, lost 3.
Away, won 7, drew 4, lost 12
Top half v Bottom half.......
The misconception that Blackpool play better against the top teams is open to argument with the following figures.
Top half Home won 5, drew 4, lost 2
Away won 3, drew 1, lost 7
Btm half Home won 9, drew 2, lost 1
Away won 4, drew 3, lost 5
We beat more bottom half teams at home and away however, one alarming stat is that we only took 4 points off two of the relegated sides in Cheltenham and Port Vale (both at home) and only recorded victories at 4 of the bottom half clubs away.
We won 18 points from the promoted and play off teams
We gained 14 points off the relegated teams.
Blackpool's home form this season has been outstanding.
The away form unfortunately has not and its been the 12 defeats on our travels that has ultimately delivered another season in league 1.
Whether Critchley stays or goes is a matter for Simon Sadler to decide but whatever happens, the way Blackpool approach away games has to change.
48 points were won at Bloomfield Rd this season compared to only 25 away.
Hopefully the home form continues and even if half of those 12 defeats were turned into draws then we most certainly would have a play off side at least.
