Our strikers are shit

Harsh that Allez. Jake Beesley had his worst game since his return. Shayne had a good game I thought, chased a lot down. Kyle Joseph should have had the whole of the second half.

Given Wigan's self destruct potential at the back, we should've been pressing a lot better than we did. Although unluckily it was one of our better presses that got Rhodes injured. That's a big worry

Joseph should be starting ahead of Beesley imo

Lavery was terrible…?

You forgot to mention that our defence switches off every game, the midfield were anonymous and our wing backs don’t seem to realise there is an obligation to get forward.

Lavery Beesley and Joseph all seem to struggle when the ball is played to their feet with their back to the goal, poor first touch doesn't help

Joseph 1 goal in 23 league games tells it's story..the header he put over the bar was a very bad miss.
Lavery did ok today I thought.. Beesley won some headers but no one got on the end of them..
Rhodes off the pace before he went off injured .
Too many times a long ball was played to no one.
Not working with Norburn and Byers as holding midfielders. Byers could do that job on his own and play 2 attacking mids in front to give more service upfront.

Lavery would look better with a proper target man like Madine who if you're going to pump it long can at least hold the ball up and lay it off. Beesley didn't win a single ball in the air and nothing stuck at all as a result players like Joseph and Lavery look worse than they really are. A big lump up front with a bit of nous would also give midfielders more time to get up in support.

Service is the problem, IMO! We're playing with 3 up top, essentially, with 5/3 at the back and 2 defensive midfielders in front of them. This is how we started the season and it didn't work then! There's fck all in the middle!

Dougall eventually came in and added some ballance in the middle and Byers should be doing the same (he's a far better player than Dougall!) but seems restricted by the tactics until we're chasing the game late on!

If we created more decent chances all our forwards would be knocking them in. But we don’t & they’ve been feeding off scraps most of the season. However a good forward can create something for themselves or take the one chance, we don’t do that so draw your own conclusions.

I agree with this post. Lavery does not score goals anymore, Beasley scores now and then, Kouassi is good but doesn't score a lot, Joseph, again good player but doesn't score. In summer we need to address this, there are some good goals scorers coming to the end of their contracts
