Peculiar one - now 21 - any ideas @Insider what has gone wrong with this one?

The 21-year-old didn’t get the senior chances he was perhaps hoping for though. Moffat wasn’t involved in a single senior matchday squad and that has continued into this season following the Tangerines’ relegation to League One.

Now, Moffat is drawing loan interest from Scotland, and he’s keen to make the move.

The Daily Record reports that Moffat is wanted by Hamilton Academical on a temporary basis and is keen to return to his native in search of first-team football away from Bloomfield Road. Talks are ongoing as the Accies look to add more creativity to their ranks after being relegated to Scottish League One, their second drop in three seasons.

He played vs Squires Gate as a substitute in pre-season for the development squad and didn't stand out whatsoever.

Looking at the replies you've got already I'm in agreement with what has been said. There are flashes from him showing his ability but not enough to think he'd be worth another contract, IMO.

Doesn't he still have 2 years on his current contract (plus an option?). I thought he got injured almost immediately after we signed him? Has he played much in the dev squad?

I was excited when we first signed him and hoped he could make the break through at some stage in or around the 1st team squad.
I watched him in the youth final last season and was disappointed with his all round game in general if I'm honest.
Maybe some time a change of club or a move nearer home can do the trick.
All the very best Owen in the future if you do move on to pastures new.

According to today's Daily Record, seems Hamilton were still keen on a loan but he's got something else lined up.

"Last week Moffat featured for Accies in a behind-closed-doors clash with Rangers, with a view to the former Celtic player returning to Scotland.
However, the 21-year-old - who still has two years left on his contract with The Seasiders - has decided his future does not lie at New Douglas Park.
Manager John Rankin said: "Owen played a closed doors game for us against Rangers B last week with a view to us doing something with Blackpool.
He has moved on to an option of something else, somewhere else, so that doesn't look like that will happen for us now."
