Oxford United v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 21.10.23

A great point, and hopefully a couple of lessons will have been learned as well.
Now in eighth, three points off the play offs, and ten points off automatic.
That equaliser will make for a much better Saturday night ! 🍺

Have to say I think a negative set up cost us there and I'm a Critch fan too. He needs to get over his cluster fcuk at qpr and get his mojo back.
Team that finished to start on Tuesday.
Dembele and Morgan were very good and changed it.
Totally agree, I'm afraid that's Critch's away tactics, it showed how a couple of changes showed we could have won that game quite comfortably.

We need to stop showing teams so much respect. That last 15/20 minutes we were a different side, taking the game to 2nd in the league away from home. Dembele provides that class, love those players with a low centre of gravity, he seems to shrug off players much bigger than him.

I'd have taken a point all day long before the game so that is a great result considering we were poor for most of the game. Need to follow it up with a win on Tuesday!

Made up with that second half. I don’t blame him for the first half set up, it was effectively the same as Stevenage and we murdered them. The change was getting more in their face second half. More like the Critch team that got us up first time around.

A point away and on another day we would have won that.

Still going up as Champions!!!

How the hell do we get 5 yellow cards and Oxford don't get any?
The one that stands out was when they tried to cripple Hubby half way through the 2nd half

First half very bitty for us, sat back too much, Oxford got through once and scored. The only real chance of the half. For al their possession they did very little with it.
Second half we got more into it, started getting on their faces a bit.
We couldn't be physical in the middle of the park because the ref was just pulling us up all the time for the most ridiculous things.
Dembele in the hole has to be used more often. Deserved to win that, if we had been a bit more aggressive first half might have too.
Decent performance between probably two top four teams

Went bed at half time I was bored senseless woke up a little too late on 70 mins and we was playing some nice attacking football dembele stood out in particular is it not too much to ask that we set up to play like this from the off? Dembele is never going to make a right back which is why he doesn’t start dales not a very good left back we need to play to our strengths Neil’s bloody clueless I really don’t know what they’ve taught him on that elite coaching course but it’s not working I actually hate the bloke

Last 15-20 were more like it, what a difference when you let them have a go. Definite signs of improvement in style the last two games, stick with it. Were 7th and bang average until Stevenage.

Many of us would have taken a point on the road at an in form side. And with a key member of the starting 11 missing. late equaliser shows us that our character shone through today. A frustrating 60-odd minutes from us and then - bang - we started to turn it on.

Well done Pool, fans and Critchley and I’ll say it again, Jordan Rhodes is ** ace.
