PA system đź‘Ž

It's absolutely abysmal.

Tony par pre match... you can't hear him clearly, it's making a horrible high pitched noise from feedback, breaking up all the time. This shouldn't be happening.

This is with sitting in block E, it's embarrassing.

Surely the speakers are loud enough and it comes down to a poor microphone and receiver?

I couldn't help think of the sponsors who are paying to be read out and no-one can hear what they are.

It really is awful.

Think the footballing side of things is the priority.

No offence, but I don’t go to a football match to listen to music or an announcer.

This whole fascination with the PA system is all a bit odd.

On another note, one minute people slag TP off, next minute you want him in Dolby Surround sound. Make your minds up.

A couple of games ago he was out on the pitch at half time and I think with a former player. I could only make out that he sounded like he had a Caribbean accent. Havnt a clue who he was or what he said due to the poor PA system. I clapped in all the right places but does anyone know who it was?

You'd think with all the sponsers they'd want their brand to be heard, not some part broken up muffled crap with feedback.

It can't cost a lot to fix it, should get a crowd funding page going.

Also I don't think a small fix to the pa system is going to stop us signing Mo Salah.

Seeing as Tony is announcing may as well clearly hear the announcements.

It sounds tin pot and if that's replicated in the away end when they're announcing players etc its poor.

Yet maybe it's just when he's stood nearer the pitch with breakup etc as some of his other ones don't break up later in the game.

It was actually...

The way captain Jack mutters is the way everyone sounds on the pa anyway.

But seriously Tony's voice isn't clear like on most PA systems, not his fault but the audio quality is dire.

Maybe we should get an audio sound quality sponsor....

Heard it would require ÂŁ750k to completely replace with something decent. Can't be the highest priority atm. Ok but not brilliant in block k.

Not that one again, we've mentioned this before.

Yet song can sound pretty clear when played so it's not just the speakers.....

Weirdly when the music accidentally was turned right up last night it wasn’t distorted……. Maybe if it was left louder and TP didn’t have the mic so near to his mouth or shout it would be better. The feedback and cutting out needs looking at.

Aside from we need someone more professional (and less linked to the previous regime) than Tony Parr, the PA system is awful. It is dreadful in the sponsors lounge too. The stage up there does not have lights…

Another sign of doing things on the cheap in the past and these things will get sorted in time.

Was in Block A last night.

It was certainly clearer than at times I've heard it in the past.

Just a couple things though.

I've said it before, kill the music with 15 minutes to go. Let the crowd build the atmosphere.

Sack off any walk out music (unless obliged)

Make the announcements for the away fans leaving when they are on the attack on not us!

Last night, we are on the attack Bowler getting the full roar of the crowd behind him and TP comes on booming - so everyone shuts up! Please watch the game and not follow the predetermined script.

Still, I wouldn't spend a penny on it until we've got everything else sorted.

Exactly, which suggests the speakers are just about adequate. The issues seem to lie elsewhere, like mic and receiver and maybe user, so less costly to fix.

It's not the actual sound system that's the issue in terms of quality, pitch, volume etc it's the speakers attached to the roof of the stands that are the problem. They are apparently really cheap and lightweight. The supports in the stand roof are not strong enough to hold anything stronger/better so to radically improve the pa system the whole ground requires better, more powerful, speakers which are much heavier and therefore the stand roof supports also need replacing. Massive and expensive job apparently circa 750k to 1m. Will be done eventually but not at the mo due to other priorities.

Oh, it’s Tony Parr is it. I was under the , obviously mistaken impression, it was Norman Collier.🤣🤣

There was a hilarious moment last night where Parr attempted to introduce the teams at the start of the second half, nothing came through the speakers and I swear he looked down, played with his microphone and realised he hadn't turned it on and had missed the moment 🤣

Cant really hear the walk out music so not that bothered about it but defo agree with the announcements to the away fans exit routine.... right on the bowler attack. Dont think he could of planned it any worse to dampen the crowd noise

So you’re bothered about Away fans hearing how many minutes are added on the clock or hearing the Nolan Sisters?

I think its the reason why the club have got on board in Digital advertisement boards and a Big screen. Which generates a hell of a lot more income for the club and also giving local business’ exposure to all fans for 90 mins.

The main priority of a PA system at stadiums is ground safety: announcements, guidance and instructions to the public. Ours is not good enough for that important requirement.

I’m guessing ours is sufficient enough considering we played in the Premiership (biggest league in world football) with it. And there have been no concerns raised….

Focus on the football for now.

It got better in the south. You would think it is a health and safety must to have clear instructions if an emergency ever happened.

And no fires or major incidents have happened in all that time to test your dismissive approach

If he's reading out the teams in a muffled and breaking up, high pitched feedback awful manner then its hardly going to get people cheering the players names if they can't understand it.

Its a basic function of the stadium to have a pa system that's audible.

As for sponsers it doesn't sound good if when it's their moment to have the company announced round thousands of people, it's inaudible.

Maybe someone should have bought Tony a megaphone for Christmas or employ Brian Blessed 🤷

Absolutely not it would be 10% of that price.
Cabling is already in place so just needs new horns, amps and transmitter

Tony Cunningham (I think)
