Hot Gossip blew the dance groups away but PP were the original and have stood the test of time, indeed I was watching the old TOTP shows over the weekend and they have too.

I guess that Jimmy Savile has tarred the memories a tad but it was a great show and 'must see' TV at the time. I guess the Wombles and Chas n Dave will have evoked the same emotions within the (Imposter) community.

Legs & Co morphed out of Pans People.
It's odd watching the old clips now because we're used to the professional dancers on Strictly. In comparison these girls were not very good.

I can remember a group called Legs and Co
Did Hot Gossip dance on TOTP as well?
Hot Gossip did indeed dance on TOTP, but only for the hit 'Starship Trooper' with Sarah Brightman.

Pans People and Typically Tropical 'Barbados'- a kids dream (one word omitted smiley).

For the video of the Moody Blues’ “Nights in White Satin”, PP were not so much dancing as, errr... writhing... on a huge bed covered in a white satin sheet. While wearing skimpy white satin lingerie, as I recall. I will bet that footage is now locked away in the archives forever. 🥰

I seem to remember watching a documentary on PP/L&Co and it was said that they had a ridiculously short amount of time to choreograph and rehearse a routine before they had to record it which no doubt had an impact on quality.
