Parachute payment clubs three times more likely to be promoted

An interesting study published about parachute payments, something we know about all too well.

The disparity is only growing and the EFL, who commissioned the study, are set on abolishing them - to no conclusion as of yet given the Premier League aren't willing to cave.

May be the unused parachute payments should be kept for the rest of the efl clubs that would help.

Too late now I know but our position was not helped by how we used the parachute monies that we did receive.

I think it's fair to say that our chances of being promoted to the Premier League again were reduced when the parachute payments that we received were effectively removed from the club by the Oystons and Uncle Val.

Surely we would have a greater chance of returning to the Prem - albeit always against the odds - if the monies had been employed in improving the infrastructure ?

Putting any return to the Pem aside, we are one of the clubs who really should have seen a long term benefit after receiving parachute monies as unlike most other clubs we didn't have a big Premier League wages problem.
